Every file uploaded to Sia is encrypted, erasure-coded into 30 unique shards, and distributed across 30 storage hosts.
Any 10 of those shards can reconstruct the chunk.
Here’s how the new SDKs keep that process fast 🔗 sia.tech/blog/the-new-sia-sd…

Strange but true: You can't prove that a human wrote something. But you *can* prove that an AI wrote something!
There are some very clever ideas floating around for how to do this, e.g. ZK proofs. Today I am introducing a method that is... not clever. I call it a repligraph.

s3d v0.1.4 makes it easier to serve downloads from S3-compatible storage: you can now expose buckets for public reads with bucket policies & support time-limited access with presigned URLs. It also improves client compatibility for bucket & root probes.

11 years strong and still building. Try our mobile apps available on iOS and Android for private, decentralized cloud storage. ☁️🔐
Overnight breadth sweep flagged a strong recovery across the board, with 69% of the USDT universe green. While many names flashed, $SC just printed something the tape has been hinting at for days, leading the pack up +22.1% in 24h.
The recent V2 hardfork has significantly enhanced Sia's renter-host protocol for faster, more efficient decentralized storage, addressing core scalability concerns. Coupled with the upcoming Sia Storage App targeting Google Drive-level usability in Q4 2026, the decentralized storage narrative for Siacoin has potent tailwinds. Even a Bitcoin fork is looking to adopt Siacoin's Blake2b algorithm this month, an indirect validation of its underlying tech.
Technically, SC is holding above MA7 ($0.0009), MA25 ($0.0008), and MA99 ($0.0007), maintaining short and mid-term structural integrity. RSI at 67.1 supports bullish momentum. However, a +22.1% move in 24h means the easy gains are likely gone. My zone of interest is between $0.0009 and $0.00103.
Invalidation for this leaning long thesis is a break below $0.0007. Initial targets sit at $0.0012, followed by $0.0013. Observing whether it can consolidate here or if profit-taking kicks in after its strong run, similar to how other assets like MINA behave after pumps. 📊
What key level are you actually keeping your alerts on?

Not financial advice. Manage your risk.

ALT 4H chart of $SC at 0.001 (+22.10% 24h). Stance: long, conviction 2/5. Entry zone 0.0009 to 0.00103. Invalidated below 0.0007. Targets 0.0012 then 0.0013. Price holding above both MA7 (0.0009) and MA25 (0.0008) — short-term structure intact. Still above MA99 (0.0007) — the mid-term line has not broken. RSI 67.1 keeps momentum tilted to the buy side. Risk: Already +22.1% in 24h — the easy part may be gone.

If you are a Sia host and you raise your storage price, raise MaxCollateral too. If you don't, every contract at the previous cap will fail to renew and you lose a customer.

For the ones who are familiar with Sia and wonder if that includes the typical 3x redundancy, it doesn't. It actually pushed 30GB at 6.68 Gbps over the interface.
The best part? None of that traffic hit our infrastructure. It goes straight to our permissionless network of hosts.

People often associate decentralized storage with being slow and clunky to use. Meanwhile I just uploaded a 10GB file at 2.23 Gbps testing our latest changes to the Sia Storage SDK in Go. I call that pretty sweet.

Something that was only possible due to all the mistakes we made and resulting lessons we learned. All of that shaping our understanding of what a good renter-host protocol looks like to support the current architecture of indexd, the software powering sia.storage.

After working on something for a long time it's easy to forget about all the milestones you have achieved along the way. Just a few years ago we were proud to take scalability from 10TB+ with siad to 100TB+ with renterd and now indexd is sitting comfortably at 1PB.

Renters that notice that a contract can't be renewed have no other option but to take their business elsewhere. Even if the host is otherwise perfectly fine. We see this almost on a daily basis and sometimes a host loses 30%+ percent of their whole capacity.

The probably most common reason hosts on the Sia network lose customers today is not keeping enough funds in their wallets.

Today, surveillance looks different than it did during the Cold War. It looks like checking a box to agree to ToS, silent pings, and location tracking. Your data is Big Tech’s most valuable asset. But now, we can take back our data.

The next internet won’t be defined by platforms.
It will be defined by who owns the infrastructure beneath them.
And for the first time, that ownership might belong to users.
Still here.
Still building Sia. 🌱
