repost from @thehorrorgallery Heath Ledger was one of the most talented actors of his generation, known for his dedication to his roles. His portrayal of the Joker in The Dark Knight (2008) is considered one of the greatest performances in film history. To fully immerse himself in the role, Ledger kept a personal diary filled with notes, sketches, and references that helped him develop the Joker’s chaotic and unpredictable personality.
His father, Kim Ledger, later revealed the diary, showing pages of dark imagery, quotes, and inspirations that helped shape the character. Some pages included lines from the script, clippings of playing cards, and disturbing messages that reflected the Joker’s twisted mind.
Sadly, before The Dark Knight was released, Ledger passed away on January 22, 2008, due to an accidental overdose of prescription medications. His death shocked the world, and many speculated about the toll playing such an intense character had on his mental health. However, his family and colleagues clarified that he was proud of his work and excited about future projects.
Ledger’s unforgettable performance earned him a posthumous Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, cementing his legacy in Hollywood. His dedication, talent, and artistry continue to inspire actors and fans worldwide.

repost from @oleskycraig #SkydogSunday. A beautifully colorized photo of Duane Allman practicing in the hotel bathroom at the Holiday Inn. The Allman Brothers Band were in town for 2 dates at Bill Graham's Winterland Ballroom on October 8th and 9th, during Skydog's last trip to the west coast. As the story goes, after this photograph was taken, Duane and the photographer went to his mother's house for dinner. The rest of the band ate at the hotel, and everyone else got sick.
