Security Reminder: Stay Alert to Scams as Withdrawals Resume Withdrawals are resuming in phases and opportunistic scammers may try to take advantage of this period. They may impersonate Binance through DMs, emails, group chats and even small transfers with a message attached, offering to "speed up withdrawals," give "priority processing," help you "claim compensation," or move your assets into a "Binance vault". Please remember that Binance will never: • Contact you first about your account or funds • Offer or sell you a place in the withdrawal queue • Charge a fee to unlock a network or asset • Ask you to connect a wallet, sign, authorize anything, or transfer funds to "unlock" a withdrawal • Ask you to move your assets into a "vault", "safe account", "secured wallet" or any address provided by someone else • Send you an "eligibility", "status" or "compensation claim" link • Ask for your password, 2FA codes or seed phrase • Point you to a unofficial PoR site • Offer paid "asset recovery" services Once you connect, sign, or authorize a request, third parties can move your assets — and on-chain transactions are usually irreversible. If your withdrawal is still pending, check its status in the Binance app. Anyone promising to expedite it for a fee is scamming you. Only use the official Binance app and official channels for updates. To check whether a channel, account or website is real, use the official verification page: binance.com/en/official-veri… If you see anything suspicious, or think your account may be at risk, change your password right away, review your security settings and contact in-app Customer Support. Binance's initial investigation suggests that the security incident may involve a compromised DevOps engineer’s laptop, which allowed an attacker to gain access to a service container and submit unauthorized withdrawal transactions. We have found no evidence of any wallet private key leak. We will share a detailed technical post-mortem once the investigation is complete and the facts are fully verified. The estimated total impact sits at around $6.3B. We have worked with blockchain partners to freeze affected assets, with ~$3 billion frozen on-chain so far. Binance will cover all losses from the SAFU fund and the company’s funds. User funds are safe. We will also publish an updated Proof of Reserves once the remediation is complete. As an immediate precaution, Binance has: - temporarily suspended deposits and withdrawals while security checks are completed; - revoked the affected address authorisation; - engaged law enforcement and blockchain intelligence partners to trace and recover funds. Our teams are working around the clock to resolve this issue safely and thoroughly. Update on Solflare SOL staking Our staking provider has notified us of a security incident on their side, affecting the keys they hold for the Solflare validator. They are investigating. As a result, the Solflare validator is currently not producing rewards. Your SOL is safe. Delegated stake sits in your own stake account and is controlled by your keys alone; the Solana protocol does not allow a validator, or anyone holding its keys, to move it. No user funds were touched. We're moving to a new Solflare validator, which means your stake will need to move too. No action is needed now: an upcoming app update will give you a secure, guided path to the new validator, and we'll post here the moment it's live. Rewards are paused until your stake is active on the new validator, and we're working on a compensation plan for everyone who migrates. Migration will only happen through the Solflare app. We will never DM you or send you a link. We'll keep you posted.
