Possum can no longer be used when the team that killed you is nearby unless 4 minutes have passed. The range and duration is tunable moving forward.
This could be seen as a buff, as now you know when it’s safe to pick yourself up, but IW does say that its intention is to “give a high level operator a second chance” which tracks.

I’ve seen a lot of people complaining about DMZ being too PvP focused but that’s the whole point of the extraction shooter genre. The friction of dealing with players
and, in some areas, higher geared/tuned NPCs. The fear of getting good loot only to have it stolen from you adds to the thrill imo 🤷🏽♂️
