The most honorable thing to do with proceeds of these wells should be to give back to the society for free.
But, no. Those institutions are the most expensive in the country.
The idea of Samuel Johnson writer the history of the Yoruba people has never sat well with me.
Never will it.

Ifa is older than Jesus Christ and your arab religion combined
Everything written about the Yoruba history was done by foreigners, from whom local authors make reference.
The Yoruba tribe is at a vulnerable stage in its history. I only hope they wake up to defend what their fathers lived and fought for.
1931- The Ooni had the powers to confirm or deny the Alaafin a beaded Crown.
** FG gazette of 1931 to 1937 confirms it.
1942- Ooni was PERMANENT chairman of Yoruba Council of Obas.
2026- Ooni is PERMANENT chairman of Southern Traditional Council.
2026- The Olubadan is Chairman of OYO Council of Obas.
That is reality!
Now we know what the Empire Day is about - Fabrication of History & attacks on IFE as usual. Good luck to erasing Govt archives! 😂
Hadandawa ko, Zarandawa ni.
If you refuse to tell your own story, people will do what they want with it.
My hypothesis is that Oduduwa may not have been the actual name of the historical figure associated with the founding of the Yoruba dynasty at Ile-Ife. Rather, it may have been a Yoruba adaptation of Hadandawa, the name of an ethnic group belonging to the Beja people of present-day eastern Sudan.
Historically, it was not uncommon for migrants to be identified by their ethnicity, clan, or place of origin rather than their personal names. This practice was particularly widespread in the Arab world and northeastern Africa. I suspect something similar may have happened with Oduduwa: a migrant who arrived in Ile-Ife was identified by his place or people of origin, and over generations, that designation became Yorubaized into the name we know today as Oduduwa.
Several observations make this hypothesis worth investigating.
First, Yoruba oral traditions describe Oduduwa as having arrived from the East, with some historians interpreting this as a possible connection to northeastern Africa. Some mention Mecca, others Sudan, Egypt, Nubia etc. What was always consistent in the story was that they left because of Islam, and they left a place where the people were black but close enough to the Arabs.
Second, the name Hadandawa bears some phonetic resemblance to Oduduwa, particularly when considering how foreign names can change as they are absorbed into another language.
Third, the Hadandawa and certain other Sudanese populations historically practiced facial scarification, a cultural tradition also deeply established among the Yoruba.
My argument is not that these similarities conclusively prove Oduduwa came from Sudan. Rather, I propose that Oduduwa could have been an ethnic or geographical designation that eventually became understood as a personal name.
If this hypothesis is correct, the historical figure remembered as Oduduwa may have been a migrant associated with the Hadandawa people, whose original personal name was lost to history.
Establishing this connection would require further linguistic, archaeological, and historical evidence, particularly concerning the earliest forms of both names and possible migration routes between northeastern Africa and Ile-Ife.
On the issue of Raml and Ifa, people who knows both have establish the they have major similarities. Both traditions use binary patterns to generate 256 possible combinations. Of, na Ifa people teach Arabs 🙂↔️?
Another thing is that many account says that the Diviners who came with Oduduwa brought Ifa here, and that sort of gives credence to this position.
Truth is, we will never know the full truth. Most of the accounts were written only after hundreds of years. But I'd really like historians to look into this.
I used to have a stupid school of thought about African footballers, until my friend @msani0248 knocked some senses into me during our stay in ABU Zaria.
They were never good enough. I had my reasons to justify this assertion.
We are nothing but victims of the books we read, the myth and stories we are told.
It is time we went back to the drawing board to find how we got here.
The emancipation of a people begins the moment they start to query who they are and where they come from.
We all know who the problem is at the moment.
The one in direct control of how the team plays.
We won't let them lead Michael Carrick to the slaughter like every other manager who has been sacked in the past.
We demand accountability.
🚨🎙️ - Ashley Young CALLS OUT Jason Wilcox and Omar Berrada:
“We’ve asked for an interview and NOBODY wants to come out and speak.
“There has to be someone upstairs that comes out and says what their VISION is and if they will back Michael Carrick or go another direction.
“They don’t know what’s happening. If they do make a change with Carrick someone else upstairs will have to GO AS WELL.”
