FIRMS (Fire Information for Resource Management System) is near real-time (NRT) active fire data within three hours of a satellite observation from NASA's Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) and Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS). The “location” is the centre point of a 375 m resolution pixel which may not the specific coordinates of the actual fire.
