JUST IN: Several Gulf Arab states have been told to brace for a short, intense American campaign against Iran once the 3rd November midterms pass, per the Wall Street Journal.
The word went out through diplomatic and military channels, say people briefed on the talks.
President Trump has not decided. But people who know his thinking told the WSJ he leans toward a large attack after the vote. It could hit Iranian infrastructure and nuclear sites.
The US military is bringing a Patriot air defense system in from Texas. It has pulled troops off exposed bases, officials told the paper.
The same night in Jerusalem, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke to supporters. “It is within our power, together with our wonderful friend President Trump, to remove this threat once and for all” Bibi said, per a Times of Israel translation from Hebrew.
Brent crude rose 1.3% to about $115.40 a barrel after the report, per Bloomberg.

The far far far right is losing elections. And voters appear to be losing patience. First Viktor Orbán in Hungary, after 16 years in power. Then Flávio Bolsonaro in Brazil, where voters rejected another attempt to return the Bolsonaro dynasty to the presidency. Now Aleksandar Vučić in Serbia, whose authoritarian grip on the country has been broken by a student-led democratic movement.
Three countries. Three defeats.
And across the Atlantic, Donald Trump’s Republicans are bleeding support.
When a billionaire receives another enormous tax cut, somebody still has to pay for public services. And that somebody is you!
There is only so long you can convince ordinary working people that making the extraordinarily wealthy even wealthier is somehow an act of economic patriotism.
There is something else these defeats suggest. People are growing tired of politicians who admire dictators, attack democratic institutions, manufacture enemies and treat public office as their personal property.
It is 2026. Most people want competent governments, affordable lives and a future for their children. They have remarkably little appetite for aspiring wannabe strongmen.
Lula, re-elected.

HUMANITY vs. INSANITY
Talarico: This election is a battle between the powers that be and the powers that ought to be. The powers that be have chosen their candidate. They have bought and paid for Ken Paxton.
But we are standing with the powers that ought to be the teachers and the nurses, the farmers and the ranchers. The grandmother who is facing eviction, the little boy who's waking up in the middle of the night from the lights of the data center, the small business owner, who is struggling to keep his family restaurant open. Those Texans are my team.
They are why I'm in this race. I want to be a senator for every Texan who can't afford one. You want to know why they are spending $200 million against me? Because I don't take their money, and I never will. I don't work for them. I work for you
