John Wick, Madagascar and Mission Impossiple Star Michael Nyqvist Passed Away Nine Years Ago at Just 56; He Would've Turned 66 Today 🎬🕊️
Happy heavenly birthday! 🎂
Michael Nyqvist became an international star as journalist Mikael Blomkvist in Sweden’s Millennium trilogy, bringing quiet intelligence and humanity to The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and its sequels. Hollywood audiences later knew him as the ruthless Viggo Tarasov in John Wick and Kurt Hendricks in Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol.
He also provided the Swedish voice for Melman the Giraffe across the Madagascar animated franchise.
Some of his most memorable roles included:
• Viggo Tarasov — John Wick
• Mikael Blomkvist — Millennium Trilogy
• Melman — Madagascar Franchise (Swedish Dub)
• Kurt Hendricks — Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol
• Daniel Daréus — As It Is in Heaven
• Nikola Kozlow — Abduction
• Captain Sergei Andropov — Hunter Killer
• Melman — Madagascar Franchise
• Rolf — Together
• Paul Schäfer — Colonia
• White Vincent — Zero Hour
• Mikael Eklund — 100 Code
• Andrei Blok — Europa Report

Nyqvist was only 56 when he passed away in 2017. On what would have been his 66th birthday, his work remains a powerful bridge between Swedish cinema and international audiences.

A father’s love for his daughter never ends, even when her time here does.
There are no words to describe the heartbreak of losing a child or the emptiness that lasts a lifetime. The years may pass, but the love, the memories, and the longing to have her here with us never fade.
If you are able, please consider making a donation to support us as we walk to honor Autumn this Saturday. These donations, no matter how small, help fund life-saving research, suicide prevention education, and support for families who know the unimaginable heartbreak of losing someone they love.
Autumn will always be my daughter, our heroic archer. She will always be loved and always be a part of everything I do.

NADA.
