The pairings for the Women’s 7A State Golf Championships have been released by the NCHSAA. This year’s championship is being played at Seven Lakes Golf Club in West End N.C (Moore County) starting Monday. A pair of McDowell High School golfers have qualified for states. Junior Rylee Davis shot an 86 Tuesday afternoon at Marion Lake Club during the 7A West Regional and made the final individual qualifier spot from the region. Davis will be paired with Clayton High School golfer Georgia Byrd and Wake Forest HS golfer Mia Dubois, the group will tee off from the first tee at 10:30 a.m. Monday morning. At 10:40 a.m. McDowell golfer Gracelynn McGarr, Audrey Switzer (Ballantyne Ridge) and Kindel Hill (Cleveland) will follow by starting on the first tee. The state golf championships is a 36-hole event with day-two pairings based on placement in the standings after the first 18 holes. updates on each golfer will be posted throughout the event.

McDowell quarterback @JayRonMoore12 eclipsed the 1,000-yard passing plateau during last nights 42-22 loss to Watauga. Moore threw for 212 yards and a pair of passing touchdowns against the Pioneers. On the season Moore has 1,108 yards through the air and nine passing touchdowns. The passing yardage leads the Northwestern 6A/7A conference going into the final week of the regular season. The converted receiver has also scored nine rushing touchdowns under center in 2026 for a Titans squad that has crossed the end zone 23 times in total on the season. McDowell will be at home for the regular season finale next Friday against Freedom.
