🎉 We're excited to announce that our Co-Director Kris Smith will be an Assistant Professor at @wsuanthropology in August! 🙌 Congrats Prof Smith! 🥳

Talking climate-sensitive disease requires talking about humans, environment, & animals too. HSL Co-Director @kris_m_smith is in Kenya working on adaptation to #climate-sensitive disease: working with county officials, teaching qualitative methods, & kicking off new research. 🌍
Congratulations to @kris_m_smith on receiving the Postdoc Achievement Award from @CASatWSU! 🎉 Look at those kudos - all spot on! So well-deserved, Kris 👏👏👏
HSL's @kris_m_smith bringing the stats to compare candidate lies across cultures - and the results show Shuar-Achuar thinking about lies is very different even compared to other Ecuadorians. 👇

The last of our weekly Summer Lab Lunches for 2022! Ate our way through Pullman, talked our way through #sciencetwitter drama, and lingered on obliging patios. A fun few months -- with @Queer_as_Idaho @kris_m_smith @EHubb764910 (not pictured) @AnnePisor
Our lab members (@kris_m_smith & @AnnePisor) & honorary lab members studied close- & long-distance friends in Tanzania & found that "perhaps more striking than the differences... was how similar they were." Here's how both kinds of friends helped 👇. See Kris's 🧵 below for more!
