Natural doesn’t mean safe. Synthetic doesn’t mean dangerous. Detectable doesn’t mean harmful. Hazard doesn’t mean risk. And correlation doesn’t mean causation. That’s. The. Whole. Point. Of. Science.

Lead, uranium and arsenic are all 100% natural.
Your body naturally produces acetone. Yes. The same chemical found in many nail polish removers. It’s a normal product of fat metabolism. A chemical’s name tells you surprisingly little about its risk.

EU doet 299 miljoen. Waarvan Nederland 82. Dat is 27,5%?! Wat gebeurt hier???

Water can kill you. Drink far too much too quickly and you can dangerously dilute the sodium in your blood. The substance essential for life can become lethal. The dose makes the poison. Even when the substance is water.

Grass can’t scream and can’t run. Is grass worth fighting for like some of us fight for certain animals?
The smell of freshly cut grass is a chemical distress signal. The plant is damaged and releasing volatile compounds. You smell a beautiful summer afternoon. The grass is having a terrible day.

“Do your own research,” they said. So I did. A PhD in organic chemistry. 20+ years in the chemical industry. 14 scientific publications. 40+ patent applications. And after all that research, here’s my conclusion: Everything is made of chemicals. Natural doesn’t mean safe. Synthetic doesn’t mean dangerous. The dose matters. The evidence matters. And your Google search isn’t a substitute for decades of scientific research. Hi, Chemist here 👋

The greatest marketing trick in history was convincing people that chemicals made by plants are good and chemicals made by chemists are bad.

"Natural" means safe. No, it doesn't. "Chemical-free" products exist. No, they don't. GMOs are uniquely dangerous. The evidence doesn't support that. Apparently I have to repeat this. Over and over and over again. So I will.

Among which loads of pesticides, fungicides and more repellents
People want food without chemicals. Plants have been making pesticides for hundreds of millions of years.

Chemical-free doesn't exist. It's a term designed to exploit the fact that most people don't realize that everything, including water, air, and organic food, is made of chemicals.

This is such hogwash. If soils were depleted of nutrients, yields would be falling. They aren't. I am not sure where this commonly-held idea comes from but my guess is that it's from regenerative ag's pop ecology notion that soils should be able to supply all the nutrients crops need without fertilizer inputs. No wonder the public thinks badly of ag; they are fed these lies from sources that should be trustworthy but aren't.
