Nobody talks enough about the skills you need before entering Web3.
Everyone talks about learning Solidity, understanding blockchain and exploring DeFi.
But what about learning how to communicate?
How to research?
How to solve problems?
How to work with people?
Sofe Node LLP retweeted
Your friends saying βthis is a great ideaβ isn't the same as a potential customer choosing to use your product.
You need feedback from people who actually experience the problem you're solving.
Watch what confuses them.
Listen to what they question.
Notice what they ignore.

Smart builders and investor take actions that are backed by data.
The crypto industry is contributing $55bn to the American economy while payment of salary alone is $31bn of that sum.
What this means is that American talent is bringing more money than the crypto businesses.
What this means is that if Africa can build world class web3 talent we can attract billions of dollars into our economy as well.
Education is the bridge to that we can use to catch up. That is why we're intentional about what we're building @sofenode.

Someone else has been building for 3 years.
You started 3 weeks ago.
Don't use their chapter 20 to judge your chapter 1.
Learn.
Practice.
Ask questions.
Make mistakes.
Try again.
You don't need to catch everyone.
You just need to keep moving.

You don't need another Web3 thread.

Your user acquisition method is probably broken if it starts with ads or token drops.
Those methods create the wrong users at scale

On Wednesday this week, I will be speaking for the first time as the Blockchain Technology and Innovation Officer at the Beyond the Classroom conference, organized by the University of Nigeria Engineering Faculty Alumni Association in partnership with @AcespedU.
I will be speaking to engineers and professionals on 'Blockchain Applications in Engineering: The need for decentralization in Engineering industrial processes and research'.
Register to attend virtually or physically.

Let's make Blockchain a native technology in Africa.
π New Chapter: Moving from Web3 Adoption to Industrial Application
I am thrilled to announce that I have stepped into a new role as the Blockchain Technology & Innovation Officer (BTIO) at the Africa Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Power and Energy Development (@AcespedU), University of Nigeria, Nsukka (@unn_tweets).
For years, my journey in the African blockchain ecosystem has been driven by a singular mission: scaling Web3 adoption and building resilient developer communities. Through my work with @sofegroup and deploying web3 distribution infrastructure like the @Sofenode where I onboarded over 5,000 people over the past 7 years, I have witnessed firsthand the incredible talent and need for decentralized technology across the continent.
Now, it is time for the next phase of that contribution. The Blockchain ecosystem is moving beyond digital currencies and shifting entirely toward enterprise utility and industrial engineering. I strongly believe that the mass adoption of Blockchain tech will be led by the industrial integration of blockchain into engineering design and process, serving as the underlying framework that eliminates trust tax and intermediaries.
π The Vision: DePIN & RWA for Africaβs Industrial Engine
At @AcespedU, a world-class, World Bank Group (WBG)-backed Centre of Excellence, I will be leading the research, development, and incubation of Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks (DePIN) and Real-World Asset (RWA) tokenization. We aren't just teaching engineering theory; we are building the digital and economic layers for Africaβs core infrastructure. Our focus will span power, energy, and sustainable industrial processes, including:
- Decentralized Electricity Trading: Creating peer-to-peer renewable energy networks on local microgrids.
- Digital Climate Assets: Tokenizing high-integrity carbon credits to align with global climate initiatives.
- Hardware-to-Blockchain Integration: Utilizing blockchain-encrypted IoT sensors for trusted grid management and industrial supply chains.
β‘ Nigeria as the Footprint for Industrial Web3
Africa has long been a leader in crypto adoption, but the future belongs to those who can design a physical power grid and program its economic engine simultaneously. By bridging the gap between hardware engineering and distributed ledger technology, we are positioning Nigeria and Africa as the definitive footprint for DePIN and industrial innovation.
I am deeply grateful to the leadership at @AcespedU, the director, Prof. Emenike Ejiogu, deputy director Prof. Cosmas Anyanwu, and the head of Innovation Prof. Allon Rascour, for this opportunity to lead the assembling of this premier sandbox.
To the builders, engineers, and protocol foundations, the lab is officially open, and it's time to get to work.
Letβs build the future of African industry, block by block. πβ‘

Web3 is now fundamentally culture-driven.
The recent surge in student participation at university tech summits across Nigeria highlights a significant trend: the next generation of digital builders seeks collaborative learning experiences rather than isolation. In the African tech landscape, discovery and growth are increasingly social-first, fueled by peer validation and campus networks.
Web3 transcends being merely a technology stack; it embodies a culture. The community serves as the vital force in this space. The era of connecting through anonymous Discord servers is fading. Today, the new campus "flex" is not just about holding a token; it revolves around being a verified operator, someone who truly understands blockchain. This includes users who are passionate about the solutions, web3 professionals capable of auditing contracts, analyzing on-chain data, creating marketing content, or running nodes. Growth emerges when high technical competence intersects with a vibrant culture.
Sofe Node LLP represents more than just an academy; it is a system for community building. We harness the dynamic energy and vibe of the campus ecosystem to foster genuine technical mastery.
Join the network where building the future is the ultimate flex.
