I'm starting to understand the power of the process again.
I focused too much on the result and got burned out because of emotional fatigue. People don't get burned out for making art... they do by doing content.
Make art your religion, and the process, the way you practice it.
For me, the process is now sacred. I see now how it can't be faked.

Evolution.
Took us a while to find the secret sauce, but we're close. At first, our world style was too obvious. It was almost pure prehistoric/analog. Inflexible. Almost default video gamey. It was cool, but felt like something was missing. (first picture/concept pitch)
We needed to give ourselves room for growth and to be able to tell all sorts of stories. A sense of personality, relatability.
The past 4 months we've evolved into something that still captures nature-craft, but feels like the manifestation of childlike wonder, where clay is an added layer of salt (think floating candles in Harry Potter and visual language); a world that allows itself to be a bit more contemporary and whimsical. It's flexible, but feels right. Cedric and Jervis have crushed it.
Above all else, when you see it you KNOW it's Claynos. That's where we wanted to be.
