An oil tanker with 50-60 million gallons of oil is currently sinking in the Gulf of Paria. That's 5x more than the Exxon Valdez spill. The Venezuelan government is denying any problems. If the world doesn't act now, this will be one of the biggest disasters ever.

Very telling that @VattenfallGroup is contemplating closing its last / newest 1.6GW coal-fired power station in Hamburg, commissioned in 2015. Its losing money, so regardless of being slightly less polluting, it is a stranded asset, unviable. cleanenergywire.org/news/vat… by @KeAppunn

Precisely why a #PriceOnCarbon w/border carbon adjustment is needed; to encourage a shift of GLOBAL capital away from dirty fuels toward clean energy & low-carbon solutions. Makes no sense for 1 or 2 actors to do it. The entire market needs a price signal. bit.ly/dimon4cd
