@Sourcegraph MCP usage is up another 50% in the 6 weeks since I tweeted this, and not slowing down Most of what agents do is search. Give them the tools they crave.
We announced our MCP server a year ago this month! Usage is up 560% in the last 6 months. The acceleration of work being done by agents is just unbelievable, and we’re lucky to be on the front lines @sourcegraph Context is everything. The best enterprise eng teams in the world are adopting Sourcegraph

We launched Agentic Batch Changes this week: the very first coding agent with outcome-based pricing. You only pay when you merge a PR, not per token. Despite the innovation in other verticals—Sierra, Fin, Decagon, and more all charge per resolution—dev tools have remained firmly tied to seat- and usage-based pricing. So why are we doing this? We’re confident in the product, and pricing on outcomes is the clearest, most tangible way to prove it. This pricing puts our incentives in lockstep with yours. sourcegraph.com/blog/agentic…

Today @sourcegraph’s Agentic Batch Changes, the frontier agent for large-scale code changes and migrations, goes live. The Batch Changes engine already helps our customers merge half a million PRs per year for security and remediation, dependency upgrades, and ops migrations. With this release, we are bringing a frontier agent to oversee changes and adapt to the unique requirements of thousands of repos at once. sourcegraph.com/blog/introdu…

Many customers ask me what Code Finder is, and why we introduced a second agentic search on top of Sourcegraph's (deterministic) code graph. On the 2x2 of cost vs. comprehensiveness, it was important to us to have an offering at the frontier in both the top right and bottom left. Code Finder is NOT for a deep, global investigation like Deep Search. It's faster, cheaper, and a perfect daily driver upgrade over ripgrep (not to mention for high-volume automated workflows). Code Finder is also our *first* MCP-only product 👀. Humans need not apply.
Code Finder is now generally available. sourcegraph.com/changelog/co…

Absolutely love this conversation between industry legend and co-creator of .NET, Peter Smulovics (@MountGellert) from Morgan Stanley, and @erikseliger and @bobheadxi on @Sourcegraph's new Agentic Batch Changes tech for large-scale migrations! Thank you @FINOSFoundation for hosting us. youtu.be/mmqLMkdydIo?si=wq85…

Today we launch Agentic Batch Changes into public beta. It is the frontier agent that lets the owner of a massive codebase execute code changes across hundreds (or hundreds of thousands) of repositories at once, starting with a single prompt. It iteratively rolls out the change, self-heals and responds to CI status and PR comments, uses coding agents where judgment is needed and deterministic scripts where not to save you tokens, and provides tracking and auditability to be sure you covered 100% of the places where the update was needed. sourcegraph.com/agentic-batc…

.@Sourcegraph analysed 1,281 coding agent runs across large enterprise codebases and found the bottleneck often wasn’t the model — it was context retrieval and navigation. Agents struggled once codebases grew large enough: pulling in the wrong files, thrashing between tools, and making locally correct changes that broke systems elsewhere. One stat says a lot: a task that took one agent 96 tool calls and 84 minutes dropped to five calls and under five minutes with better retrieval infrastructure. The takeaway is this: coding agents need far better context and navigation layers around them to operate reliably in production. 🔗 Read the full story here: tessl.io/blog/coding-agent-f…

We fine-tuned a small model to convert natural language into Sourcegraph search queries in under 400 ms. Skip the DSL, just describe what you need.

The (most recent) dustup over MCP vs. CLI got me thinking about the gaps I see in the market every day, and particularly the home-grown MCP wranglers/routers/policies that our customers are building in-house. It’s the wild west out there, and there’s zero consensus on the shape of MCP access in the enterprise. sourcegraph.com/blog/mcp-sto…
