We keep being told we must surrender our decency to win and then we lament how indecent the country is becoming. Every candidate is a worse candidate, but from pastor to politician, weāre told we must hold our nose or else. Now, weāre to defend the Vivek ad or else. Nope.

False equivalency. The issue isn't just that it's sordid and tasteless for family members to publicly denounce each other over politics (although I believe it is, because I believe the family unit ought to be sacred). But the bigger issue in THIS case that did not apply to Kennedy or other cases, is that the family member in question is a piece of trash who chose to abandon her minor children to run away with her pedophile husband after he abused them.
Appalling behavior. One expects better from a father.
Vance: The media and the Democrats in the state of Ohio are obsessed because Vivek Ramaswamy had the audacity to run a TV commercial which calls it out like it is and calls Amy Acton a liar.

I get that when you're negotiating with somebody, you may pull some punches & even offer the occasional vague platitude. Maybe call Putin a patriot who loves his country or something. But outright lies that whitewash fundamental reality are not good public diplomacy - especially before you have a deal.

Steve Witkoff to Vladimir Putin: āYou talk so much about my president, President Trump, being a humanitarian. You are a humanitarian also, sir. And I salute that. I commend you, and I thank you again.ā
I realize that Witkoff is, like the president, a schmoozy Manhattan real estate mogul, used to speaking off the cuff with effusive praise, and basically saying whatever it took to get his negotiating partner to sign on the dotted line. Facts and truth are immaterial.
But if that impulse is unchecked, at some point you end up praising the moral values of an indisputably evil man on behalf of the United States of America.
