🛰️NIMCAM | UK-led Mission to Map Methane
Led by @EdinburghUni and supported by the CEOI and @spacegovuk, NIMCAM will pinpoint industrial and natural methane release with high spatial resolution
🌋 Volcanic Meteorites from Mars reveal the geological history of the red planet...
Using argon-argon dating, shergottites were dated from around 150-600 million years ago, pointing towards ejecta from the youngest and largest volcanoes on Mars - such as Olympus Mons!
🛰️ A solution to catching space junk?
Here at Edinburgh's Centre for Robotics, an optimisation framework for stabilising a tumbling targets using a two-arm space robot was created. This was taken a step further by using two KUKA robotic arms to put simulation into practice!
Glass used in solar panels, windows, mirrors, and fibres could be produced from Moon dust 🌒
Dr Jürgen Schleppi and Dr Geoffrey Bromiley investigated the transparency of glass produced from different artificial lunar regolith 👉buff.ly/3UMQH85

Prisoners experience confinement similar to what future deep-space astronauts living on the Moon and Mars will endure, which is why Prof Charles Cockell from the UKCA set out to create the 'Life Beyond' project - linking prisoners to space exploration 👉 buff.ly/4bJrqCn
How will astronauts adapt to medical emergencies in deep space with communication delays? Steven Yule, chair of behavioural sciences @EdinburghUni teamed up with researchers to investigate autonomous medical responses with and without ground support. 👉 buff.ly/3QMaQtD
Dr Varsha Jain is one of the world’s first space gynaecologists and is leading the way in female physiology in space 🚀
