Bc they can plan. They regularly steal peoples goats & kill them, even stole a puppy one time. they’re not cute, they’re not your friends. That’s why when I watched planet of the apes, it made me uncomfortable.I really wanted them to shoot Ceasar in the face.Protagonist isonu.
He runs to the village screaming that the monkeys had planned to kill him & waited for him, if his brother wasn’t there no one will believe it was monkeys that killed him, they’ll just find him dead on his farm. 😂😂😂. My village people don’t regard chimps as “stupid animals”
There’s no one around for miles, just hills around the farm. He immediately leaves the farm. He comes back the next day with his brother, only to find 3 chimp in the farm hut, one has his cutlass, the other has a hoe. They chase him & his brother off the farm with the tools.
It’s funny now thinking of how casually they told me these things as a proper city kid & I was just like 😳 😳.There was a story that happened around the year I visited.A farmer clearing his land, takes a break to eat & nap in the farm hut, he comes back & his cutlass is gone
Bc Chimps have opposable thumbs & insane grip & they’re smart. If they grab the cutlass, disarm you or you drop it & they pick it up, they’ll kill you with it. So take the stick instead, better a few bruises than dead. The chimp my uncle fought almost split his forearm with a bite
Have gone 1v1 with a Chimp on different occasions. After first encounter they modified the club & drove nails into it, so every hit does damage. One time I asked why the don’t take cutlass instead. 😂😂 Silly me. They laughed & told me, better to have a stick than a cutlass
chimps come down from the hills at night in my village. They warned us as kids,“don’t try to be a big girl/boy & go out alone at night to pee. Chimpanzees will attack you😂😂. Tell an adult to go with you & take the stick. The stick is my great grandfather War club. 2 of my uncles
Anytime I listen to my dad narrate how they grew up in the 50s and 60s in the village I run mad
What do you mean hippos from the creeks and mangroves would come and eat babies that were not guarded?
What do you mean pythons would swallow kids and there was a time his grand dad and other people attacked a python that was in the process of swallowing a kid and they rescued the boy who later died
What do you mean there would be conflict with the neighboring village and people will kill people?
That's how I heard my dad's nickname and learnt how he got it. Still had to do with pythons
Man, even till date when I go to my village, by 5:30 everywhere starts getting dark because of how thick the forests are.
I wonder how they survived those times

after I drove that stretch I understood the concept of “evil forest”. I dey ontop road & 1pm be like 5pm,how e go come be if person dey inside the forest itself by 1AM, with no moon light. I don’t Think light touches the floor of that forest. Bc that place was cold.

He came in with the ginger & theatrics of someone who wants to work.Started by calling out Matawalle’s insane corruption& failures.Only to follow suit & be a failure too.A big issue he raised was about buying cars when no one registered Waec in Zamfara for 3yrs. Today here we are

Drive from Benue to Calabar, the stretch from Vandekiya to Calabar is so heavily forested on both sides with 20 meters tall trees,Mid-day with sun overhead can feel like nightfall. And you can be on that stretch for 4hrs.
If this really happened then I’d have given Gary “the look”, so he knows the next time he darkens my door,he’ll be shot on sight. It’s low quality behavior to lend out tools you borrowed & have an attitude when the owner asks for it. Took me a while to build my tool collection
I lent my post-hole digger to my neighbor Gary in Ohio. That was April.
In August I needed it back, so I walked over and asked. Gary looked at me the way you'd look at a man asking about a dog you had in high school.
"It's been four months," he said gently, the way you tell someone the store closed an hour ago.
Then: "Dale's got it."
When I found Dale, he said, "Oh. You mean back back?" Dale did not have it. Dale's brother-in-law had needed it for a fence. The brother-in-law lives one county over, so I drove there. Very nice man. Gave me a Coors Light. Did not have it.
"Gave it to the church."
My post-hole digger had been to church.
In June it dug the footings for a picnic pavilion at Grace Fellowship. The pastor walked me out to see it. Twelve holes, perfectly spaced. "We had a wedding under it last Saturday," he said. I stood there longer than was normal. In Japan, famous swords have lineages. You can trace every hand that ever held one. I was looking at my digger's first wedding.
The pastor didn't have it either.
"Earl needed it for a mailbox."
Earl hit a rock. Earl does not believe in rocks. So Earl took it to his cousin Junior, who welds, to have it "fixed for rocks."
I found Junior in his shop. The digger was leaning on the wall behind him. He followed my eyes to it.
"This yours?"
I said it was. He handed it over.
I almost didn't recognize it. New hickory handles. Blades sharpened until they caught the light. Fresh grip tape. A new bolt where the old one had rusted, which Junior said was Earl. Gary, it turned out, had oiled it before it ever left his garage. And on one handle, in white paint, someone at Grace Fellowship had written my name, so it would find its way home.
Six different hands had held it since April. Every one of them sent it on a little better than it came.
Junior wiped his hands on a rag. "You don't give a man's tool back worse than you got it."
I drove home with the digger in the passenger seat. I buckled it in. I'm still not sure why.
The next Saturday a young guy who had just bought the house on the corner knocked on my door. He wanted to put up a fence. He asked, a little embarrassed, if I happened to have a post-hole digger.
I went and got it.
"Keep it as long as you need," I said. "It knows the way home."

Na there gan gan i raise eyebrow and started watching closely. The sequence of events that happened confirmed what I suspected.
Zamfara really had high hopes with this their governor man. Sorry for them sha, there goes another decade
So Your friend is very insecure. 😬
So my friend’s man’s cleaner has a habit of buying things for the house with her own money, and it’s not the first time. The other day, she bought a new waste bin and Parker. My friend thought her man had bought them because she had been meaning to get them, only for him to say the cleaner bought them, brought them to show him and insisted he didn’t have to pay her back.
My friend is beginning to feel weird about it. I don’t know, do you guys think she’s overthinking it? Maybe the girl is just genuinely nice?
I love this guy. He’s just made my job so much easier. Likeee I don’t have to argue with the favors & omolewas of this world anymore. “America is so rich, it doesn’t need Venezuelan oil, America has more oil than anyone sef”.-Favor(someone that wanted to lecture me on capitalism.

Democracy is great isn’t it. If you’re a billionaire you can just get invest in the election & buy it off. If you have enough money to throw around you can even interfer in another country’s election. Bc democracy serves capital first & foremost, Every other feature is secondary

I remember watching that live & I was confused at how the US was glazing the junta. Like 24/7 on CNN & calling the ousted president “ pro-kremlin” as justification for praising the Junta as heroes
