Each time I have a chance to collaborate with @sidefxhoudini I think of my whole #houdini journey. First time I had a chance to witness Houdini Hive was in 2017 at LA #siggraph where I got my hands on my first Houdini t-shirt that is still holding with only one little hole💪
This week I had the pleasure of meeting and connecting with @R4vonus
Discussing state od the digital art and brainstorming on how it can be brought to better light it deserves.
We also talked about his endeavours of developing unique pipeline to store artworks directly on blockchain chain and shared thoughts on how this could benefit the digital art ecosystem in general.
It was also great to hear about his one of a kind experimental procedural art system diven by generative code.
Great boost of optimisim and excitement to keep creating and building💪
This is part of why I’m building Keel around generative code.
You’re storing the rules that create the scene. Change the pixel resolution and those same rules can render it at a different level of detail. Trees, terrain, textures—all generated instead of manually making assets for every scale.
The hard part was never making the pixels smaller. It was writing every system behind them and making everything stay consistent as the detail changes.
Procedural generation isn’t new. AI makes the sheer amount of specialized code needed to build this way much more practical.
Really proud of the evolving patter system in Feudal Age.
It gives each piece a truly signature look.
Let’s see where this journey leads ;)

This week is about Prehistoric Age and today we are looking at how this visual style moves away from Genesis Age while still holding the notion of continuation within our narrative of evolution.
Aside from myriad of technical obstacles and nuances that had to be fine tuned, one of the important decisions was how to get across the look of first human marks and drawings while still respectign the digital nature of The Origins collection.

From there, it becomes a series of decisions, tests and iterations.
This is a look at how I approached building the visual language for one of the Genesis Age in The Origins.

Cosmic expanded outward into the universe. Quantum moves somewhere less familiar.
Form, meaning and structure no longer need to follow the rules of physical reality.
The work can become more abstract, experimental and open to interpretation.
