In case you missed it, here is the recent debate I had on creation vs. evolution. I'll be releasing it soon as an episode of @RealAtheology too.

What are you doing in this situation?
All but the worst of us agree that torturing children for fun wrongs them. Yet to wrong someone is to break a duty owed to them, and a duty owed to a person just is their right. So rights are not make-believe. They are the logical consequence of common-sense moral judgment.

One of the top ten philosophy memes that still make me chuckle every time I see it.

Replying to @NathanBozeman2
If most Christians believe chiefly because they were indoctrinated, and that pattern is more expected on a naturalistic account of religion than on Christianity, then it counts as some evidence against Christianity.
Where do basic rights come from? Where does the number two come from? Where does a necessary God come from? The answer to each is "nowhere." What is necessary is not contingent. It does not come from anywhere.
The phrase 'do not fear' takes the grammatical form of an imperative or command. Yet its intent is consolative, not prohibitive. You need not fear, because the Lord is with you. To derive from this a moral prohibition against horror cinema is simply absurd.

If you believe God is omnipotent and could have brought humanity about *in any way possible*, evolution is a very surprising choice
