Final: @BearkatsFB 24, NM State 30 The Kats fall at home and move to 1-6 on the year. The offense broke the TD drought but struggled for the majority of the game once again and totaled 11 rushing yards. Another tough loss in a season that continues to go the wrong direction.

After a series of penalties and one touchdown that was already nullified, MJ Dowdy runs it in for his first career TD. It is now 30-24 NM State with 4 minutes to play. Got the points you needed but took a lot of time to do it. Have to get a quick stop here.

30-17 NM State going to the 4th. The half started with a big TD to Tim Burns and then went south quickly. Jerrian Parker does bring some life into the team on the final play of the quarter with a big play on a screen pass.

Just one of the worst sequences Sam Houston football has ever had.

2 plays later and NM State scores to make it 30-17. A disastrous last few plays and a 13 point difference feels insurmountable.

End around play is botched and NM State gets it back in Bearkat territory. Absolutely can not have that happen.

Landyn Locke is in to start the second half and hits Tim Burns on an 81 yard TD catch! First TD for Sam Houston in 13 quarters. That was very needed. 17-14 Sam Houston.

Such a bad sequence for Sam Houston. Gets the ball with 1:12 left in the half with a 10-7 lead. Not only do you not go get points, you go 3-and-out so quickly that New Mexico State gets the ball back around midfield with 40ish seconds left and scores a TD to take a 14-10 lead.

At the half in Huntsville Sam Houston trails NM State. It was a quick start with a blocked punt TD, but the offense has struggled immensely totaling only 13 yards. Brett Holloway and DJ Bailey have both seen snaps after an injury to Landyn Locke. What a mess.
