Sorry to point this out, I feel it's necessary. It has not been working out well for their victims such as Seems Misra either.

It's absurd. In the Seema Misra case the prosecuting lawyers apparently determined that the Fujitsu document that listed 3,500 active bugs errors and defects in the Horizon system was incapable of undermining their position that Horizon was perfect. They belong in prison.

18 distinguished experts including senior public health directors, statisticians, and neonatologists say the Lucy Letby case was built on ‘unsuitable expert advice, junk science and fake statistics.’ Their briefing paper concludes the convictions may be a miscarriage of justice. Read it. #LucyLetby
This excellent briefing paper on the Lucy Letby case by 18 distinguished experts is now available as a pdf on this website: astro.ljmu.ac.uk/~ikb/LL/Let… The authors say "Letby’s conviction may be a miscarriage of justice, based on flawed scientific reasoning and legal shortcomings."

Where do Lucy Letby myths - and there are many - actually come from? The always excellent @AnneBoleynBooks has diligently excavated two more pieces of pure bullshit. Vapourfacts sometimes spread by a podcast whose company was paid by Cheshire Police. reddit.com/r/LucyLetbyTrials…

"bizarrely trying to claim the judgement is confidential." That seems very smelly.

Replying to @DrHuw @BrettKnoss
The judgement of Sir Robin Spencer, the single judge who refused Lucy Letby's first leave to appeal, has not been made public. I'm being stonewalled by the Court of Appeal who are bizarrely trying to claim the judgement is confidential.

The question this BMJ article should be asking is can cot cams in neonatal nurseries stop nurses from being falsely accused of murder? The reactions to the proposal are somewhat mixed. bmj.com/content/394/bmj-2026…

4/ /Finally, I think it notable that there are NO lawyers discussing potential defence failures in the Letby trial. They won't talk about it. I have not idea if it means anything mutch.

1/ Not a lawyer or medic. I think that the PO and Letby scandals have exposed, the width and depth respectively, of appalling unethical behaviour by lawyers and judges. Almost every lawyer must know all about it, yet they say little or nothing. Now there are exceptions.

2/ It is hard to think that she could have been convicted if the Known Error Log had been made available to the defence. It listed THOUSANDS of active errors. There seems to be something wrong with our bloody Lawyers today.

1/I looked at this a bit more. Grok says (you can check it easily in the Inquiry docs.) "No, the Known Error Log (KEL) was not made available to the defence in Seema Misra’s trial. Yes, the defence explicitly asked for it." She was convicted and imprisoned where she gave birth.

You are correct. PO were aware of the KEL. thanks.

From looking at the PO Scandal, it's what prosecutors do. It's normal to keep information from the defence. I think the PO scandal and Letby has been caused by bad lawyers and judges. There seem to be a LOT of them.

Apparently not. Disclosure failure by prosecutors, abetted by judges, sealed the fate of the postmasters too. In at least one case Branch Accounts were requested and the judge denied them. Charges were False Accounting. Known Error Log requested- denied. Help desk calls- denied

No one knows what he was paid, however something round about £1M seems quite plausible. Dr Michael McConville did a clever analysis, with certain assumptions, of Evans' Companies Hse records and got £2M invoiced Evans should have worn a ticker in the witness box. Jury transfixed

Disclosure failure by prosecutors, aided and abetted by judges, was a major factor in the PO Scandal too. It's not an adversarial system when material generated by or related to an investigation is kept from the defence. It a witch trial system. That's what we have. @VeraBaird

Fujitsu always knew that Horizon had numerous faults. Their document, the Known Error Log had thousands of entries. As they fixed some, new ones were added. One snapshot in 2018 was 3,500 entries. That's 3,500 active known errors. I they may have kept this concealed from PO.

Sure. But they use the same mark for Army, RAF, and all govt. stuff.
