This remains a masterclass on how to interview a tricky customer (to put it politely!) Sometimes the coolest heads elicit the most revealing answers … #ReformUK
Car crash alert 🚨 Sally Nugent asks Nigel Farage about Raheem Kassam's “Nigerian scammer” comments on Kemi Badenoch and his response is painful to watch. #bbcbreakfast

Some rewriting of history from @RobertJenrick here. He was a Conservative MP from 2014 when migration ballooned under the government he supported. He was a Government Minister from 2018-2022 and from 2022-2023, including years when hundreds of thousands arrived under the Boriswave. And, he was the Immigration Minister from 2022-2023. His resignation 8 months before the 2024 General Election should not absolve him from criticism for the failings to curb immigration.
Andy Burnham has betrayed Britain Labour said the Boriswave was a 'one-nation experiment in open borders' that had caused 'incalculable' damage. I resigned when I couldn’t get the Conservative government to do what was needed to fix this mess. Now Labour seek to *lock* in the Boriswave, and effectively give blanket citizenship to them. Reform UK will not let this generational mistake stand.

Thanks to Chelsea Opera for a memorable performance of Hamlet (Ambroise Thomas) @cadoganhall last night. A powerful account of the title role from @jacquesimbrailo and a brilliant mad scene from Haegee Lee. This neglected work deserves more outings…

I think we’ve all seen the effect private equity can have on established high street names - in my experience it’s been overwhelmingly negative #R4Today #bbcbreakfast

Given the PM has said this is a time for honest discussions, might we please consider how much Brexit has contributed to this £49bn black hole?

“Let me make sure I understand what you are saying Mr Farage. You are suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder because a LibDem female MP resisted you trying to push her out of the way on the stairs? So you want a sick note so you can miss the Budget speech?”

The gaslighting from Tommy Robinson’s supporters is extraordinary. They are trying to construct a narrative that journalists somehow endangered his children by photographing him at a well-known five-star luxury resort. How do you think those journalists knew where he was? Robinson had already been publicly documenting his luxury holiday, posting photographs from the resort on his own social media. In typical Tommy Robinson fashion, he is now using emotive language to weaponise his large and fanatical following to spread misinformation about what actually happened. The journalists simply published photographs similar to those Robinson had already published himself. They didn’t reveal his location or name the resort. They highlighted the extraordinary hypocrisy of a man safely enjoying a luxury five-star holiday in Cyprus while simultaneously using social media to encourage his followers in Britain to take to the streets and participate in protests that ultimately turned violent, resulting in numerous arrests. This is journalism. This is precisely why we need journalists: to expose the hypocrisy of these grifters who enjoy the luxury while encouraging ordinary working people to put themselves and their families at risk. And how did Robinson respond to journalists simply doing their jobs? He hired private investigators, photographed their homes and families, published identifying information to his millions of followers and threatened them. The consequences were journalists requiring security protection and, in one case, having to evacuate their family from their own home. This is why Tommy Robinson was convicted. Nothing more, nothing less.

Every story about Nigel Farage seems to expose him as a fraud. Very hard to believe he was running scared of a female Lib Dem MP! #ReformUK #wato

Because he’s a career criminal and everyone is happy to see him off the streets. Fairly simple really.
I don't understand why the Brits are not flooding the street in protest of @TRobinsonNewEra political percussion. It is clear, that the political establishment in the UK is hellbent on locking him up for his political views. It doesn't matter if you support him or not. Democracies die when different views are suppressed. You will be next.

The problem is Kassam spent the whole of Reform conference briefing journalists he was being lined up as Nigel Farage's chief of staff. He's recently spent a lot of time in Reform HQ. He constantly boasts about how close he is to Farage. So Farage can't "distance himself". He either cuts him loose. Or remains contaminated.
The problem with racial politics is that deniability is not always plausible. Raheem Kassam's "Nigeria" strategy is already rebounding; Farage is struggling to distance himself from him...
