There are no recorded names of the women in this photo. But it does capture what took place In 1979. Secular, liberal, and left-wing Iranian women marched against the Shah, some holding portraits of Khomeini, convinced they were fighting for freedom. Within months the new theocratic regime imposed compulsory veiling, stripped women of legal rights, and turned on its former allies. By the early 1980’s , thousands of those same progressive activists filled the prisons; in 1988 many were executed after summary trials. The women who helped topple a monarchy in the name of liberty inherited an Islamic Republic that erased the very rights and political space they had demanded. Doesn’t this sound eerily familiar? Today, many on the American left form alliances with Islamist voices and candidates, treating them as partners against shared enemies (Trump now, but there will be a new one) while downplaying their doctrines on homosexuality, transgenderism, apostasy, and political Islam that have repeatedly produced the same outcome. 😢💔 This Iranian example is not ancient history. It is a very recent warning about what happens when progressives give their support and credibility to groups that reject their core beliefs and will not protect their rights once they gain power. Catholics are to approach private revelation with discernment. It is not binding on the faithful, and we are called to test everything against Scripture, Tradition, and the teaching of the Church. That said, I can still prayerfully listen, use my own judgment, and share what has given me hope. I hold in my heart the 1980s premonition of Tom Zimmer, the American known as the Hermit of Loreto, author of the Pieta Prayer Book. Living a life of prayer at the Holy House of Loreto, he told a friend in Rome that the hand of God was on a certain man who would lead America back to God—and that man was Donald J. Trump. When told Trump was then known as a New York playboy, Zimmer remained convinced. He even placed Trump’s name on a memorial brick in the Holy Door of St. Peter’s so that the Masses and prayers offered there would benefit him. Kim Clement, who was not Catholic, also spoke years ago about a man God would raise up—someone the world would dismiss, a “Trumpet,” a praying president who would serve two terms and help turn the nation. He died shortly after Trump’s 2016 victory. Listening to these words again, alongside the testimony of a devout Catholic like Tom Zimmer, strengthens the hope that is in me. You may hate Donald Trump, but you cannot fight God on this one. Trump has been commissioned by God Himself to push back the insanity of Marxism, Islamism, and Socialism that are set on devouring our country. But he cannot do it alone. We have to vote! Vote RED. Even if the candidate doesn’t check every box on your list. Too many on the “right woke” are telling people not to bother because “it doesn’t matter.” That is exactly how we lose ground. Voting is how we take our country back. We need to remove the activist judges and retake full control of the House and Senate so that we can impeach the corrupt players who were strategically planted in the judiciary by those who have been working to undermine our Constitution Donald Trump has been met with lawsuit after lawsuit, and he has obeyed the law and the Constitution every step of the way.
