Well in the game at half time.
Second half, absolutely nothing shown that is positive. Giving the ball away in such sloppy ways. Defending has been absolutely pathetic. Switch off from a free kick, goal.
Excellent team goal, Sule finished well. Think our play deserved the goal, weāve played well after conceding very early on.
Phillips had to score his chance too. Letās see what the second half brings.
Fieldson dropped to the bench along with Mochrie and Taylor.
Fraser, Thomas and Sule start.
Perhaps harsh on Fieldson. Wanted to see Ramos come back in too, surely off the bench today!
One shot in that first half, which was Phillips from the half way lineā¦
Not good enough on the ball. Felt we actually defended well, other than the two errors costing us goals.
Two individual defensive errors. Two goals.
Nothing about tactics or style of play. Purely individuals not doing their job.
Brilliant examples here of just how good we were last night and how weāve played so far this season.
Missing 8 first team players last night as well. Just a shame we couldnāt take something from the game.
St.Mirren: Style of Play
Manager of the Month, Craig McLeish, showed exactly why he was worthy of that in large spells yesterday.
Fraser Taylor & Ryan Carr were an absolute joy to watch at times in midfield and they contribute so much to their style:
> Build Out with Risk
> Use 3rd Man Vertical Play to Break Through
> Runners Beyond/Behind (Denied a Clear Pen)
> Numbers to Join Attack to Counter-Press
> Recycled Attack after Attack Between 55-80.
That control they gained from about the 25th minute onwards was huge, they restricted Rangers to 0 Shots on Target between 22nd Minute and the Goal in injury time.
Rangers had a ridiculous spell of pressure between 6th and 22nd minute where they could have been out of sight.
Key to note that St.Mirren were also without 3 massive players in Nsio, Phillips & Ramos who have contributed 14 goals this season already.
The club is very clearly aligned from Keith Lasley (CEO) to Gavin Miller (Head of Recruitment) to Craig McLeish (Head Coach) on how their Style of Play is Sustainable and will bring performances short-term but longer-term financial stability from player trading
An exciting time in Paisley
An awful awful way to lose a point. A draw wouldāve been a fair result. Itās a poor goal to concede considering how well we defended throughout the game.
Should have a penalty first half, Taylor has to score 1v1 as well. Thought we were brilliant again, zero to show for itā¦
Howās that not a penalty for the late foul on Kabia??
Not seen a replay yet, but the ball was gone and defender was late
At 2-0, you take a point all day.
But canāt help feel thatās 2 points dropped with the chances we had second half. Young missing that 1v1 was criminal
