Today's the feast of St Wilfrid, 7C founder and abbot of Benedictine monasteries at Ripon and Hexham, and champion of the Roman Church's dating of Easter. Here he is in glass by Harry Harvey, 1977 at Ripon, since 1836 a Cathedral, since 2014 within the Anglican Diocese of Leeds
Don’t forget there is no service at St Nic’s today as we are celebrating the patronal festival at st Wilfrid’s. Window dedicated to St Wilfrid in Chichester Cathedral. Apparently he has a fishing net because according to Bede, he taught the South Saxons to fish! #wilfrid
