What a fun weekend celebrating Edrianna’s Quinceanera. It’s always fun to get dressed up and celebrate amazing people! It was a super quick 36 hours in Texas!
So much fun presenting with @coachjcranford today!
We led 2 sessions titled “Inclusion is as Easy as 1, 2, 3”. Both sessions were packed and I left inspired and encouraged by the educators in the room! @jefcoed @Jefcoed6_12

It was a wonderful week of learning and growth! I am so thankful for the privilege to be a part of the @ALHistoryEdu team. #ahibirmingham2023 that’s a wrap! Let’s do it again next year!!
Dr. Alex Colvin and Richard Trammel, Jr. shared with us this afternoon. They covered Indigenous People of Alabama and Civil Rights in Alabama. It was an afternoon of deep learning. #ahibirmingham2023
We gathered at the Historic Bethel Baptist Church and Dr. Boyer and Dr. Wilder guided us in a discussion about Rev. Shuttlesworth and the crucial role he played in the Civil Rights Movement in Birmingham. It was a morning that none of us will forget! #ahibirmingham2023
Day 2 and Day 3 started out with more SWAG to take back to the classroom! We love to put resources in the hands of Alabama teachers! #ahibirmingham2023
I met a real life superhero today. Mrs. Gloria marched in Birmingham in 1963. She was arrested and put in jail. She was 15 when she marched. She is using every day that she is given to spread the message of love! #ahibirmingham2023
Day 2 of #AHIBirmingham2023 started at Sloss Furnaces. Ty always does a work detail job of explaining the role Birmingham played in the world.
Virginia Jones shares about her life in the 60’s. She shares how she began her teaching career in an all black school and how that experience opened her eyes to the reality of the world around her. Perspective is so important in life. @ALHistoryEdu #ahibirmingham1963
Mrs. Gloria Washington Lewis Randall, a foot soldier in the 1963 marches, shared her story! She was 15 when she marched in Birmingham. She is inspiring and a reminder that we can make a difference! #ahibirmingham2023
