Airbus to hold talks with BAE over role in GCAP fighter jet programme
Adding Airbus could be great provided it didn’t damage or delay the programme. And arrangements will need to be proof against AfD meddling, which might be v difficult.

Good news re @quantexa. Of their 11 investors, 4 are UK which is unusually high. But almost all their ScaleUp money comes from abroad. We simply have to boost UK private sector investment in & by innovative UK Scaleups by c£10bnpa.

For any of this devolution to work we must stop fretting about “postcode lottery”. Freedom to innovate is essential & that means some areas will do better than others. Key then is to spread successful innovations, not suppress them.

A lot of people who “pretend” to be Christians actually become Christians. Truth & love & community act powerfully on people.

I’d add that Dynamism is the key to economic growth. We need to boost UK private sector investment in & by innovative UK Scaleups by c£10bnpa in a way that reduces the deficit. Can be done.

AI empowers both defenders & attackers but more fundamentally it destabilises cybersecurity. The only solution will be to move to formally verified systems & away from kludges like PHP.

“John Healey to give £20bn boost to UK’s business lender and infrastructure bank”
Using the PuFins wisely is key to boosting UK private sector investment. This can be done without additional government borrowing. We’ll see.

Appalling report from BBC about the dreadful conflict in Sudan. @KidsforKids has been helping people in Darfur for 25y & is a great way to support the people who have been suffering terribly.

OpenAI trims valuation target by $150bn after FT story that their revenue run rate was overestimated by $20bnpa - which was knocked off the “front pages” by dropping 700 part-written maths papers. Hmm…

VG by @gilliantett. And if a large proportion of Treasuries is held by hedge funds and “stablecoins” there could be very significant selling in a crisis. 🙁

Good. One of the very few UK-listed firms that’s genuinely world-class in an important industry.

The fudamental problem is that AI inherently destabilises the equilibria in cybersecurity. Using AI for cyberdefence is necessary but not sufficient - we also need to move towards formally verified systems.

Abolishing all VAT loopholes & reducing the rate would be a good start - though lots more needed.
Hmm. Major unexpectedly won a GE with the largest number of votes in our history to date, and then basically fixed the economy. So his approach worked pretty well.
