NBA fandom in a nutshell. Mavs fans: Dirty foul. Nesmith should be suspended for a couple of games. Pacers fans: Common hard foul to prevent a dunk. No biggie. Other fans: Anything from bush-league foul to nothing to see here. Your call?

An OKC fans wonder why everyone hates the way their team plays. This is simply bad for the sport and frankly embarrassing.

Gafford with Luka: good Center Gafford without Luka: Trade Material Kessler with Luka: perfect FG% Luka makes EVERYONE he plays with better. That’s his real superpower which gets overlooked too often. Nobody has that combination of vision, passing, and gravity. Nobody.

What a punk... First day in the league and bitching about a superstar who just kicked your rookie ass. Classy move, bro!

As a Mavs fan, watching that first game went exactly as expected. This will be a long season with a lot of pain. 1) Coop was great. He has taken the next step. 2) Kyrie was good (especially considering it's his first real game back). 3) We have no point of attack defense. 4) We can't shoot threes. 5) We have Rez and they don't (/end sarcasm). Brace yourself for a 0-6 start, lads.

I see a lot of comments that downplay Dwight’s impact and meaning to the Mavs. That’s a sad testament to our time that we live in. Things like loyalty, professionalism, and being a team player seem to have little meaning to the casual fan. You’re a legend, Dwight! 🙏❤️

So where are all the “Kyrie is washed” experts now?

Dwight Powell with 8 assists in 13 minutes as a bench player, while the entire starting 5 of the Mavs has a combined 10 assists. Pre-season stats are nuts.

Better question is who are THEY stopping? Worst defensive backcourt in the league?
Who stopping these 2?

Wasn’t a fan of all the hype around him back then but came around and kinda feel that players like him are getting more and more rare. Need types like him, he was always cool to watch.
Lonzo Ball confirms he’s officially done with basketball while reflecting on his NBA career and everything he went through with injuries 🏀💔 “I don’t think I ever got to my peak, and damn, that sh*t sucks, but at the same time there’s people that don’t have meals at night to eat. That’s how I look at the world.”

If you could pick any of these four PFs at the peak of their power, who would you select for your team? Karl Malone: 25.0 / 3.6 / 10.1 Dirk Nowitzki: 20.7 / 2.4 / 7.5 Tim Duncan: 19.0 / 3.0 / 10.8 Kevin Garnett: 17.8 / 3.7 / 10.0 *) Career averages

Has Nerlens Noel written all over it. The greed of entitled NBA players is taking on ridiculous levels. Totally bottomed out in the playoffs but wanting all NBA calibre money. Checks out!
Jalen Duren is reportedly rejecting the Detroit Pistons’ five-year, $190 million offer and is seeking more than $200 million, per @sam_amick “Per league sources, Detroit’s last offer was a five-year deal in the $190 million range. Duren, who is eligible to receive a five-year, $287 million contract, is seeking at least $200 million. As is the case with any player’s contract negotiation, the use of player or team options in the deal significantly impacts the final number.” (Via nytimes.com/athletic/7583257…)

A year ago the whole "Luka back to the Mavs" chatter was - of course - mostly coping and rather absurd. However, several things have changed, all of which at least give a glimmer of hope to the "Luka 2028" project. 1) The snake who traded him is fired. 2) The coach who didn't protect him is fired. 3) The Mavs have a perfect co-star who would fit Luka's strength and play style like a glove. 4) Luka wants to be a Maverick, not a Laker. 5) Lakers are a mess organization-wise, Mavs now have a great GM and coach. 6) Lakers won't win a title in the next 2 years, and Luka will eventually need a younger co-star (Cooper), which the Lakers don't have. 7) This one is the most important: Deep down, Luka is a kid in grown-man's body. I am 100% certain he still has a strong emotional connection to Dallas and wants to prove everyone that the trade was insane and win in Dallas. 8) His most important role model and idol, Dirk, has signaled interest in the Mavs again, after distancing himself from the organization after the Luka trade. I am convinced that means the world to Luka. So, as much as people discard that scenario, it feels at least possible now!

You want your team at the top of this list. If you're a Clippers or Warriors fan... don't look too closely. In terms of the "youth and skill" combo, the Thunder still seem poised for greatness.

I am a big fan of the Locked on Mavs crew, but guys please... please know how surveys and statistics work. You can't just do a survey in 2025 with sample group A and then a year later in 2026 with sample group B - and then compare the two and come to the conclusions you presented in the clip. The people who voted "I will never get over the Luka trade" might have not taken the second survey, but instead it's Mavs fans that joined since the Luka trade. So, they obviously have no stake in the Luka era. If you ask the same (!) people in 2025 and again in 2026, then you can obviously find meaningful trends and shifts... but comparing two different sample groups makes the entire exercise rather pointless. It turns into apples and oranges... Just some food for thought. Peace. @LockedOnMavs @IsaacLHarris @NickVanExit
