Nov. 21, 8:30 PM: Stayton Fire crews extinguished a house fire on Santiam Loop. One occupant suffered burns & was taken to Emanuel Burn Center to receive treatment. Sadly, 1 dog & 3 cats lost. Reminder: Once you’re safe, stay safe, don't re-enter a burning building. #FireSafety

Stayton Fire responded to a ceiling fire @ 1:07 AM Sunday. Crews arrived in 5 mins, aided by Sublimity & Aumsville FDs, Stayton PD, & Pacific Power. Cause: electrical wiring. Smoke alarms woke sleeping occupants, so everyone & pets got out safely. Working smoke alarms save lives!
