Speaker Pelosi now has COVID. DC is having an obvious surge. I know 10 people with active COVID. Ignore the green CDC map which will only change if hospitals fill. The public needs to know case rates and they are rising. Wear a mask in indoor places. Also, would skip the bars.

As of today, 14 attendees of the Gridiron Dinner have tested positive for COVID. The next big DC event is the WH Correspondents’ Dinner. Despite CDC’s happy green map there’s a lot of BA.2 circulating. The WHCA dinner should be canceled.

5) but what about #COVID19 deaths by the actual date of death? It is increasing as well. Though always be careful with actual dates of deaths — they are susceptible to a lot of delays and deaths are always being “backfilled” weeks later. But even now the death trend is obvious.

3) And Boris and Sajid are throwing the elderly under the bus. Hospitalizations in the elderly 85+ in England are so high that they now exceed also the spring 2020 peak!

2) Anyone with a brain knows this “mass infection” letting it rip approach of @BorisJohnson is just lunacy & morally bankrupt. Not to mention #LongCovid to come. I’m not saying to do lockdowns—not a fan—but there’s so many mitigations to use to keep people safe & economy running.
