Senate Majority Leader John Thune refused to help pass the Save America Act. The House passed it. He would not bring it to the floor. He sent the Senate on weeks of vacation. He blocked Trump at every turn. He did not help Trump candidates like Ken Paxton in Texas. Zero effort. Zero results. This was a once-in-a-generation opportunity. Republicans held the House and Senate. The Save America Act had overwhelming support from registered voters. Thune sat on it. Cloture attempts topped out short of 60. He said the conference lacked the votes to end the filibuster and moved on to other bills. The base waited. The bill never reached the floor. Election integrity stayed on the shelf while the midterms arrived. Win or lose, the record is clear. Thune did nothing. No recess appointments. No codified executive orders. No DOGE cuts locked in. No help for the candidates who carried the America First agenda. The veto pen stays with Trump either way. But the Senate leadership that refused to pass what the voters demanded does not stay.
