Trade is a critical piece in restoring Canada’s flailing productivity. Solid deliverables in terms of jobs for Canadians - and real investment in our economy - must be prioritized over money spent abroad without delivery. Announcements and promises without substance aren't enough. As a former diplomat, I will never retreat from forming the relationships, from making the deals and most importantly fighting for what’s best for Canadians. Thank you, @PierrePoilievre, for your continued trust and support.

The Liberals’ latest proposal to create a Crown corporation for defence procurement has the potential to repeat the same misuse of public funds that plagued the Canada Infrastructure Bank and SDTC’s Green Slush Fund. Canadian taxpayers deserve better.

This breaks my heart. These aren't just numbers on a report. They represent the millions of hardworking Canadians whose lives have been upended by over a decade of poor fiscal management and bad economic policies.   When citizens can't afford to feed themselves, it might be time to look inwards, Mr. Carney.   Conservatives will continue to fight for affordability and the quality of life that Canadians deserve.

The Liberals talk about Buy Canadian, but awarded a nearly $12 million CRA contract to an American-owned company instead of the Commissionaires, Canada’s largest employer of veterans.

The reported price difference? Less than 1%.
Canadian jobs and veterans should count for something.

With great power comes great responsibility. Yet with C-40 and the Defence Investment Agency, the Liberals have done what they do best: taken away layers of responsibility and accountability. Defence procurement cannot be overshadowed by efforts to reward Liberal friends and insiders with contracts. Our sovereignty depends on it, and our men and women in uniform deserve better.

Today, I introduced my Private Member’s Bill, C-293, the Safe at Home Act, to make violent home invasions their own criminal offence. The bill would establish tougher penalties, including a maximum life sentence, a five-year mandatory minimum sentence, reverse-onus bail provisions, and DNA orders following conviction. Canadians deserve to feel safe in their own homes. No family should have to live in fear behind their own front door.
.@MikeGuglielmin introduced Bill #C293 in the #HoC. 📜 The full text of the Bill will be available later today: ow.ly/BYij50W0NRp

Today's PBO report outlines serious concerns with Canada's ongoing response to U.S. trade measures. Notably, if current trade measures remain in place, Canada's GDP will decline 1.4% and 185,000 Canadian workers will lose their jobs. There's too much at stake for Mark Carney to not make good on his promise and get a good deal with the U.S. Why won't he?

Mark Carney is trying to convince Canadians that he is capable of replacing $1 trillion dollars worth of trade with the United States. There's just one problem: the deals he has announced so far amount to barely 1% of Canada's trade with the U.S. The gap between the Prime Minister's rhetoric and reality is enormous. When will the Prime Minister do his job and deliver real results for Canadians?

Today I join with Canadians around the world offering condolences, comfort and prayer to the families of those who lost their lives or were injured at CFB Wainwright. In times of loss such as this, we are reminded not only of the strength, courage and commitment necessary to wear the uniform in defence of our country and its values, but also of the tremendous sacrifice military families make for Canada.

One year ago, Mark Carney promised Canadians "real change that makes life more affordable." That change has not come. A recent analysis from the C.D. Howe Institute shows a record number of Canadians falling behind on their debt payments. As their financial pressures continue to grow, Carney's campaign promises ring hollow. Conservatives on the other hand have an Economic Action Plan to save Canadians money - and we will continue to advocate for it and for you in the House of Commons.

A STRONGER ALBERTA IN A UNITED CANADA! It's time to lower costs, unleash Canadian resources, and respect provincial autonomy. 🍁 We don't need a different country. We need different policies in Ottawa.
Decades of federal overreach, of historical revision, have strained the founding promise of Confederation. Our economic and democratic grievances in Alberta and the West are real, and I’m encoded with the political DNA of fighting for Alberta and the West. Never have I seen an argument won with condescension. In a world of disruption, our federation must mature to meet this moment, with a strong Alberta as a full partner in Confederation, and a united Canada confident in its future. I had a chance to discuss this in Washington DC at the @HudsonInstitute, in conversation with @Matt_Boyse.
