Kudos for the scoop. Pre-emptive announcements in other media after you go for a comment undermines the whole push by British libel judges to get media to seek fair comment before publication.
This sets up a major confrontation with the UK Government - it's not clear they will allow Harborne (who lives abroad) to make this donation, as the plan was to require one year of residence before donations allowed.

#Daphne case: there is shock at the not guilty verdict vs alleged mastermind, tycoon Yorgen Fenech. When arrested he admitted paying for the hit, although said he'd been asked to do it by the Prime Minster's top aide. He walks free despite admitting paying over 450k to killers.
#Daphne case - NOT GUILTY on all charges vs Yorgen Fenech for murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia.
Trial verdict in the #Daphne case has been reached by the jury - the court re-assembles to hear it now.
In #Daphne CG murder trial, nine-person jury is being given sample verdicts on 2 charges:- a) Complicity in the wilful homicide and/or b) Criminal association to commit the murder.
In Malta, a 6-3 vote by the jury is sufficient to convict.
Jury will shortly retire.
