Today I put this directly to the Deputy President in Parliament:
If the same worst-affected communities in Johannesburg, such as #Melville, are still going without water for days on end, if critical projects are under threat because contractors are not being paid, and if Johannesburg Water still sits with hundreds of millions in overdue creditors, what difference is government’s intervention actually making?

The unchlorinated water crisis in Tshwane has revealed a lot of faults in the current administration in Tshwane, from a lack of accountability to not remedying the situation immediately and ensuring that every resident is safe and healthy.
The DA is saying to every resident: on November 4, you have the chance to stop the chaos and start service delivery. #VoteDA

🚰 Basic services in the comfort of your home
We have working taps in our homes, yet we are told to go outside and queue, carrying buckets of water home. This is a huge inconvenience to every resident.
The DA has a plan to stop the chaos and start service delivery. Visit pledge.da.org.za and #VoteDA
1/5 🚰 TSHWANE: A THIRD OF THE WATER LOST TO INFRASTRUCTURE FAILURES.
Tshwane's reported physical water-loss rate is 35%. At recent supply volumes, that's an estimated 320 million litres of drinking water lost every day.
4/5 Tshwane needs sustained investment in pipe replacement, leak detection, pressure management and maintenance, with publicly reported results.

5/5 #Tshwane cannot afford another five years of unstable coalitions and failing infrastructure.
A DA-led government will prioritise a five-year programme of pipe replacement, maintenance and water-loss reduction.
🗳️ Restore stability. Vote DA on both ballots.

💧You turn on the tap. Water flows. That’s service delivery! Don’t risk what works.
Vote DA on 4 November to keep services running and coalition chaos out of your town!

💙 ONE WEEK TO GO! THE FINAL PUSH IS ON! 🔥
Absolutely incredible energy at our massive Blue Wednesday event with the Katlehong Constituency team!
I'm enormously proud of this team. The enthusiasm, commitment and hard work on display today were simply outstanding.
With just seven days remaining until the elections, our activists and volunteers are showing what dedication looks like.
The countdown is on. The momentum is building. And our team is ready! 💪🇿🇦
🗳️ Wednesday, 4 November — VOTE DA! 💙

1/5 🚰 JOHANNESBURG: 450 MILLION LITRES LOST EVERY DAY.
That's the estimated volume of drinking water lost through leaks and other physical failures in Joburg's water network.
The equivalent of around 75 litres lost to leaks, per resident, every day.
4/5 The priorities must be pipe replacement, proactive leak detection, pressure management and properly funded maintenance, with measurable targets.

WATCH: Serving as the Mayor of Cape Town these past 5 years has been the greatest honour of my life 🇿🇦
We’ve accomplished so many things, from deploying more Metro Police to delivering the most houses and creating the most new jobs in SA.
Now I’m asking for your support on 4 November to take Cape Town forward for all 🗳️💙
Excellent turnout at last night's Bedfordview and Dawnview water crisis meeting!
I explained how high demand, massive water losses and low pressure along Rand Water's supply network leave Signal Hill Reservoir struggling to refill.
Residents deserve reliable water and accountable government.
1/6 🚰 Pretoria East's water crisis is exposing just how vulnerable Tshwane's water system has become.
Today I visited Garsfontein and Elardus Park reservoirs with DA Cllr Malcolm de Klerk, following days of outages affecting thousands of residents.
5/6 It is unfair to ask residents to save water when COT isn't fixing failing municipal infrastructure.
Cllr De Klerk will escalate proposed interventions to Tshwane, while I will raise the supply challenges and solutions with the national Department of Water and Sanitation.
