“There were six 50/50 balls in the fourth quarter and they got five of them. That shows which team was the aggressor,” Mike Btown.
Knicks are 0-3 -- Detroit coming to MSG Tuesday. I think -- checking -- no defending champ has ever started 0-4.
Jalen Suggs awkward fall under the rim -- now down on the floor and being examined with team around him.
Knicks win a challenge -- and it's a big one. Down 3 with 4:22, would have been a foul on Brunson, but instead it's a foul on Wagner and it's Knicks ball.
KAT better stay out of foul trouble because the Knicks don't have a lot of answers behind him. Since that first half opening night, Drummond has struggled. And Wiseman, well, it hasn't been great.
KAT is up to 20 and 12 early in the fourth and just found OG cutting for a layup and foul -- Knicks back up 81-73 after lead was cut to one.
Wiseman got the call here in the second half rather than Drummond -- a little odd since Magic don't have an athletic center out there that Drummond needs to contend with. Wiseman is 0-for-4 shooting.
Wendell Carter Jr. gets called for his 4th on a screen - and then gets a tech. Knicks now up 61-53 and WC is being held back by teammates from getting a second tech.
The Magic got into it with Atlanta this week, Desmond Bane fired a ball at OG Anunoby last season and a hard screen dislocated Landry Shamet's shoulder last season against Orlando. None of this 1st quarter should be surprising.
OG collides with Wendell Carter Jr. -- sending Carter to the floor -- and Carter gets up and goes after Anunoby, who seems astounded. Anunoby gets his foul upgraded to a flagrant 1.
Follow to yesterday’s issues — Knicks issue a second statement from MSGS spokesperson:
“There is a great deal of misinformation regarding the championship rings. The plan has always been to distribute more than 275 rings and jewelry to the people in the organization who were part of last season’s success. As is common with many teams, the players were always supposed to get their rings as part of the opening night ceremony and then everyone else will receive theirs in about 4-6 weeks. Regarding the phishing email, the process of securing and reminding our employees to protect our IP was not a mistake but the choice to use the ring to do so was a mistake and we apologize to our employees and the fans.
Winning the championship was a great moment for all New Yorkers. Those who choose to focus on the negative are missing the joy that comes with the team’s accomplishment.”
