A federal judge has granted a preliminary injunction in the fight over Trump’s East Potomac golf plan, barring further tree removal without a court order and requiring advance notice before closures to the park. Big win for plaintiffs wapo.st/3UMpVRe

BREAKING: Judge Reyes has issued a preliminary injunction over the golf course and begins with this: "Rarely, if ever, has the United States Department of Justice urged a federal court not to believe the sitting President." ecf.dcd.uscourts.gov/cgi-bin…

This is a terrible look for the WNBA -- and there is no way spin it. I realize all the potential solutions sucked but the prospect of crowning a champion on a Thursday afternoon is just brutal optics (and will be brutal television ratings.) If you are the league, you are praying for a G7.
NEW YORK, Oct. 26, 2026 – Game 6 of the WNBA Finals between the Golden State Valkyries and Atlanta Dream will be played at State Farm Arena in Atlanta on Thursday, October 29 at 12:30 p.m. ET, the WNBA announced today. The game, originally scheduled for 8 p.m. ET, will still air on USA Network and stream on Peacock. To accommodate the Finals game, the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks have agreed to move the start time of their regular-season game versus the Cleveland Cavaliers to 8:00 p.m. ET.

I think folks aren't quite getting the scale of this late GOTV spending from Maga Inc. It has only been spending for about a week on Facebook/Instagram. Yet it is already the largest spender in last 90 days. Our story from a few days ago as it began: nytimes.com/2026/10/20/us/po…

Against a backdrop of continued concern about inflation & the economy, Dems maintain a lead in a bid for a House majority. Currently on pace for 229 seats in our CBS News House model estimate, which translates voters' congressional preferences into seats. Potential range of outcomes could reach into the 230s, but Reps do still have a very narrow path to hold. tinyurl.com/324de9rt

Well, I just got irrationally mad at Timo Perez again
This was the first time since the 2000 World Series that no one homered in Game 1 of a World Series, and just the second time since 1987.

A new @pewresearch survey finds that American voters generally expect the upcoming midterm elections across the country to be run and administered well, have confidence that election workers will handle ballots securely, and say the outcome will be clear after all the ballots are counted. But there continue to be wide partisan differences in perceptions of both how secure elections are against noncitizens casting ballots and whether eligible citizens who want to vote are able to do so.
