(1/x) The more I read this story the angrier I get. When US Steel shut down it’s Duquesne Plant it agreed to keep paying property taxes for 17 years. When exhauted, the already deep fiscal crisis in the school district got worse andthey were forced to *close their high school*.

From the comments (both sides) it’s remarkable how few people understood the AirBnB business model always relied on undercutting hotels by avoiding fixed costs hotels have to bear. Once you have to cover those costs it’s neither as profitable for the host nor cheap for the guest
Running the dishwasher and taking the trash out isn't hard. It's the courteous thing to do. Neither is allowed under this change. FWIW, running the dishwasher is so it's finished by the time the cleaners arrive and they can put things away. Don't be upset when you can't check in early, when there are clean dishes in the dishwasher the next time you stay somewhere, or when the cleaning fee (now part of the total cost) goes up because of this.

NEW: Scott Presler allowed multiple out of state GOP operatives to use his home in Pennsylvania to vote in the '24 election. Those operatives then left the state. Election lawyers say this could be in violation of PA voting laws.
