Excited to join the Messerli Research Institute Scientific Advisory Board at the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna - vetmeduni.ac.at/en/messerli
Looking forward to participating in the direction of the research advances from the new expansion. @VetmeduniVienna
Thank you very much for the invitation Valeria! It was a wonderful visit and really enjoyed learning about all the excellent research ongoing in your group. Exciting times ahead!
We look forward to have Tyler Stevenson @Stevenson_Lab from @UofGMVLS at our Wilhelminenberg Seminar Talk next week 11.12 | 14:00h! Save the date ⬇️🤩

Science twitter appears to have moved to bluesky. The move is helping to keep both science and public communities updated/informed.
We are starting a new social media page on bluesky! Check out our new page, follow and we will follow back. The twitter account will continue to be used.

Excellent opportunity to share the latest work from group members Irem, Adam & Calum on mechanisms of polyphenisms. Thank you to our colleagues Dr Anna Przybylska-Piech & the Dept Vertebrate Biology & Ecology for the wonderful time in Torun.
A rather interesting and enlightening read.

The home of Nicolaus Copernicus in Torun Poland. The discoverer of a heliocentric universe. It would be very difficult to explain annual changes in daylength if the sun wasn't the centre of the universe.
Morning Nick. Excited to visit Torun and spend 3 weeks working with Anna Przybylska-Piech and colleagues at the Nicolas Copernicus University.
Updating your reading list for the Autumn/Fall? Oxford University Press has release Chapter 1 for free! The book is well suited for undergraduate, graduate, medical/veterinary courses and general interest!
Long-term physiological stability in nature academic.oup.com/book/55780/…
We are really excited to have you join our group in @PhysiologyUog @UofGSBOHVM to conduct your research!.
Thrilled to be visiting @Stevenson_Lab at the University of Glasgow this fall, thanks in part to a @NSERC_CRSNG Michael Smith Foreign Study Supplement 🏴
Lots of exciting work on aging, plasticity, and ‘omics coming soon! 🧠
One of the best parts of academia is lab research visits. We have hosted Avalene Tan from UT Dallas this summer. An amazing student, person and promising scientist. Excellent talk today on seasonal morphology in brown adipose tissue. @UofGSBOHVM

Each level is also dissociated mathematically, and three different computational models are described for each level of organization. Then, a single mathematical equation is proposed to account for physiological stability.
In this paper, the genetic, molecular, hormonal and neural basis of rheostasis is outlined; when considering other systems. There is a clear hierarchical organization to physiological stability. This paper describes the organization at homeostatic, rheostatic & allostatic levels.
🚨 New publication 🚨
Interested in understanding rheostasis? See the latest publication from the lab which defines regulated changes in physiology (ie rheostasis) and the interaction with homeostatic and allostatic processes
