very well said! @StirUni, or any other university, should not be allowed to increase rent by up to 9% in the middle of a cost of living crisis.

Advocating transphobia in the name of women's rights whilst running an active campaign against the rights of sex workers (who are overwhelmingly women) to unionise and be protected from eviction really is the gender-critical movement in a nutshell.

Fantastic to see this! Sex work is work & if you are advocating for the Nordic model, it will do far more harm in a cost of living crisis as the NM would not stop sex work; it would force sex workers into more dangerous forms of sex work. Sex workers need allies, not gatekeepers.

No student should have to do sex work alongside their studies because no student should have to work alongside their studies.
For @strath_occupied to stand against a policy that seeks to support workers to unionise and be protected from eviction is deeply disappointing.
We have concerns over @NUSScotland and Living Rent’s defence of prostitution as a response to the cost of living crisis. As the left, we should be fighting poverty by fighting commodification, not endorsing it.

This afternoon we have written to FM candidates @HumzaYousaf, @_KateForbes & @AshtenRegan asking for their views on abortion policy in Scotland.
We asked if they personally support buffer zones, expanded second-trimester access, and decriminalisation.

Do you support the implementation of safe access zones around clinics providing abortion in Scotland, and will your government back Gillian Mackay MSP’s Bill on this? 2. Currently in Scotland no health board offers abortion care up to the legal limit of 24 weeks. As First Minister, would you commit to ensuring that all Scottish women can access abortion care in Scotland without being forced to travel to England? 3. Currently, abortion in Scotland is not a right. Women still need the approval of two doctors, must meet one of five grounds for having an abortion, and care innovation is limited – all because abortion is governed by the criminal law. As First Minister, would you commit to removing abortion from the criminal law and ensuring it is treated as the healthcare it is?
