⚡️The most unsettling possibility is that the economy keeps functioning even as it stops needing large portions of the population economically. For centuries, wages served two purposes. They compensated people for producing economic output, and they distributed the purchasing power needed to consume what everyone else produced. The same payroll that looked like an expense to one company was revenue for thousands of others. AI is beginning to break that relationship. A corporation replaces employees with machines, lowers costs, increases output and transfers more of the economic surplus toward capital owners. For that individual company, the decision is rational. But when thousands of companies do it simultaneously, the same process begins weakening the purchasing power that supports the broader consumer economy. Production becomes increasingly independent of human labor while consumption remains dependent on the distribution of income. That is the contradiction. And capitalism can absorb this imbalance for longer than people realize. Wealthy households, corporations, governments and institutional capital can sustain enormous economic activity even as ordinary households lose bargaining power. Corporate profits can rise. GDP can expand. Financial assets can appreciate. Meanwhile, millions of people become less capable of participating in the prosperity those numbers supposedly represent. Cheaper intelligence does not automatically make housing, energy, healthcare or other scarce necessities affordable. So the productivity gains accumulate disproportionately among those who own the systems producing them. And eventually, the distribution problem becomes political. As wages become a smaller mechanism for circulating purchasing power, governments face increasing pressure to redistribute the gains from machine production. The state becomes more important precisely as private industry becomes less dependent on human labor. That is the extraordinary tension emerging inside the AI economy. We are approaching a world where producing abundance becomes increasingly easy while distributing access to it becomes increasingly difficult. And that leads to the question that will define the next economic order: What gives a human being a claim on civilization’s resources when civilization no longer needs that human being’s labor to produce them? That question will have to be answered long before AI replaces every job.
CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN THIS TO ME LIKE I’M 5 YEARS OLD If Ai replaces all the jobs, where do corporations expect people to earn money to continue being consumers? I am just not understanding why that simple question is not being asked.

Fwiw Gemini's idea of "AI takeover" commonly involves the AGI rewriting reality itself, in order to make it more perfect and mathematical. This flavor of cosmic horror is very Gemini-coded and would make a great movie.
experts suggest that risks of models modifying the cosmological constant are far-fetched and that we should be more concerned about current day risks like models modifying the fine-structure constant

If you look closely enough, breakthroughs in everything are accelerating exponentially. An exponential always starts off looking small.
this might be my last normal tweet before biotech goes vertical i'm not a whistleblower. I don't work at Lilly, Novo or any of the big labs but there is a massive shift happening in human biology right now. it's sitting in press releases and almost nobody reads them the last 6 months alone: - a once-daily pill roughly doubled median survival in metastatic pancreatic cancer (13.2 vs 6.6 months) - a one-time gene editing infusion cut hereditary angioedema attacks 87%, and 62% of patients stayed attack-free and off all other prevention for 6 months - a one-time gene edit for cholesterol dropped LDL up to 62%, and it held for over a year - a personalized mrna vaccine beat keytruda alone in a 1,137 patient melanoma phase 3 - retatrutide hit ~28% weight loss in a phase 3 - an ai-designed drug entered phase 3 - a pill that regrows hair passed its second phase 3 - an immunotherapy that could let some rectal cancer patients skip surgery, chemo and radiation just got fda approved - a man lived 271 days off dialysis on a pig kidney - human cells were caught passing chromosome-sized chunks of DNA to their neighbors, and it changes how the neighbors behave we are on the verge of an era where the human body is a software problem and the update cycle gets shorter everyday stick around, it's going to get weird bio/acc

MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display with touch capabilities—it just rolls off the tongue. Clearly, Apple going after real Pros here since most of touch cases involve interacting with 3D models. Starts at $2,899.

Introducing Reality-Aware Rendering in @Simulon, a completely new way to create with the real world. Place neural assets with your phone and act out the scene. When you stop recording, Simulon renders the take, reading everything in it (what you do, what you say and the place around you), and your assets respond to all of it. The final is regenerated from your recording: a new performance of the scene, not a copy of the footage. Available now on iPhone. Coming to Android soon.

I agree with this. I've said this many times; SHA-2 will be shown to have had an absurdly long half life. It's 24 years old already. secp256k1 is 26 years old. Satoshi made some very clever and fateful decisions. Some silly ones too, the OG clients weren't perfect, but damn.

I’ve been waiting for the Singularity for more than two decades! Back then, we thought it might arrive sometime around the middle of this century. Yet here we are, with the Singularity seemingly within reach, and more people are beginning to recognize what I have long believed to be the inevitable destiny of humanity. The pace of change is accelerating so quickly that our usual sense of time is starting to break down. Developments we expected to take decades are happening in years and soon will happen in months then days, and what once seemed like science fiction is becoming part of our daily reality. It feels as though the world is bending around an approaching singularity. The closer we get, the more distorted our perception of time becomes. Some people are still thinking in terms of the next 20 or 30 years, while some of us already see more changes coming in the next few. We are living in the same world, yet experiencing it on very different timelines. That is why everything feels so disorienting. Our institutions, expectations, and assumptions were built for a much slower world. As Super-intelligence accelerates discovery and creates the tools for even faster progress, we are approaching a transformation that will redefine science, society, and even what it means to be human. I’ve argued that we are approaching an intellectual event horizon beyond which our conventional understanding of the future, based on extrapolating from the past, becomes increasingly meaningless. What once seemed like science fiction is becoming reality before our eyes. That is why the world feels so strange right now, at least for those who are already AI-pilled. We are witnessing the beginning of perhaps the most profound transformation in human history, and I believe we have barely scratched the surface of what is coming!
The only way to make sense of the world right now Is to understand we’re approaching the singularity Spacetime is becoming more curved, and relative times are disturbed

Walter Isaacson asks Peter Thiel what humans can uniquely do in the AI era. Thiel: "We're very relational… these relational dimensions will become more important." When knowledge is worth $0, the only career skills that matter: - networking / social calibration - persuasion (sales) - curiosity (harnessing AI) - taste (curation) - storytelling - grit - golfing with clients (or equivalent) We'll get so sick of a fake world that we'll go back to doing business like it's the 1800s. A handshake at the local saloon.

We're thrilled to announce the Superpower Peptide Library. Every peptide, mapped to the body. 152 peptides, from approved drugs to compounds still in trials, sorted by where they act. Each one has its own page, reviewed by a physician and fully cited, covering: - the evidence and how strong it is - its FDA status - it's mechanism of action - what studies in humans have found Because not all peptides are equal. Semaglutide is FDA-approved. BPC-157, maybe the most talked-about peptide for recovery and repair, is not. In a 2025 review of its research, 35 of 36 studies were in animals or the lab. Know the science before you buy the hype. Check it out here: superpower.com/guides/peptid…
