When I started building my first game 4 months ago, everyone had an opinion on what “success” looks like. I still can’t define it. Is it X players online? Is it being profitable? Is it shipping a game, cashing out, abandoning it and jumping to the next one? Is it pumping out launch after launch and calling yourself a “successful studio”? Or is it keeping one game alive for months, even years, actually serving your players and keeping the studio standing? The more people I talk to, the more I notice something weird. In the AI era, building has never been easier, and the industry has never felt more disconnected from the community. From the human side. The side I believe actually creates traction. People ship project after project, convinced that 1–2 months of sky-high revenue is the definition of winning. No real investment in giving players the best possible experience. Just launch, extract, repeat. Maybe I’m naive about business. I’ve been called that before. But Tibidle is having reasonable success, and I’m convinced it’s because I’m pouring real energy and real money into pushing it forward. Not just shipping. Building. Still, I keep asking myself: In this industry, what is success? I haven’t figured it out yet. What’s your answer as a founder, and a player?

Literally bought $15K in those projects. Also looking hard for @gigaverse. Those are the ones i am heavily supporting and want to keep buying.
Web3 gaming has two moods right now: Farm your crops in peace in @YieldFields_RH🌾 Or farm someone else’s loot in @playcambria💀 Which one are you playing?

I really wanted a WL just to play @YieldFields_RH, especially after all the OCH and MOG content I’ve made on Twitch and YouTube. Didn’t land one. So why not just grab one on secondary and keep going? Got 3 on secondary. See you on the fields.

Really happy to see @loadoutprotocol launch. Peaking 10M mkt cap. Hope it's vision gets bigger and bigger and steam games gets noticed.
Loadout is launching in 2 days. You can still connect your Solana wallet with volume in trading and get some EXP for season 0 (finishing in couple of hours).

Was studying web3 gaming and found a piece on why tokens struggle as game currencies from @0xDith. It made me think of a case that adds another angle to the conversation: Tibia Coin. Tibia is a 29-year-old MMO with two currencies. Gold drops from monsters, like in any RPG. Tibia Coin (TC) is the premium currency: it only comes into existence when a player buys it from the studio at a fixed price. Here's the interesting part. TC can be freely traded between players. The game has an in-game market where anyone can post buy and sell offers, and TC is listed there like any other item. The studio doesn't set the TC/gold rate. Players do, offer by offer, and each server ends up with its own price. That creates a simple exchange between two kinds of player: • Someone with money but little time buys TC and sells it for gold, skipping weeks of grinding. • Someone with time but no money farms gold, buys TC on the market, and uses it to pay for premium time and store items. So a free player can play the full game without ever spending a cent, and the paying player gets the gold they wanted. And it goes one step further. Around the game there is a whole network of resellers who buy TC from players for real money and resell it to other players a bit below the studio's price. This isn't an official feature, but it has been part of the Tibia economy for years. In practice, a dedicated player can farm gold, turn it into TC on the market, and cash out. That is a rewards system. People do earn real money playing Tibia. The difference is in who pays for it: the reward comes from another player who wanted that TC, never from the studio printing new currency. A few things I find worth noticing in this design: 1. The game never emits TC as a reward. It only emits gold. Every TC in circulation was bought from the studio by someone, at full price. 2. Because of that, rewards scale with real demand. Players can only cash out as much as other players are willing to buy. There is no emission schedule to outrun. 3. The studio sells unlimited TC at a fixed price, which caps its real-money value. Resellers have to stay below that price, so there's nothing to speculate on. People hold TC because they plan to use it or sell it soon. 4. TC gets burned when it's spent on premium time or the store. The end demand comes from wanting to play. 5. Inside the game the price floats against gold, not against the dollar. Gold inflates over the years and TC holds its value, so players naturally quote expensive items in TC. It ends up being the game's store of value, and gold remains the everyday money. To be fair, TC isn't a token and doesn't trade on any exchange. But I think it shows something useful for anyone designing a game economy: free trading, a floating price and even real-money rewards can coexist with a healthy economy for a very long time. What seems to matter most is how the currency is born and who funds the rewards. Curious to hear toughts on that from people who played games with same mechanics.

I haven’t been this hyped for a game since I started working on Tibidle. I’m refreshing @playcambria every second waiting for news on when and how I’ll get to play genesis.

When I first imagined building my own game, I never thought it would be this complex: running a real-time economy with thousands of players online at once. It's a constant challenge, and I do it because I know how much I'll learn along the way, and because I'm building Tibidle to be a long-term success story. Understanding how players actually behave makes me better at supporting my partners, and it's laying the groundwork for a project that's 100% tied to crypto. I've always believed in onboarding, and there's nothing like putting your own money behind what you believe in. Tibidle launched 22 days ago. 100% self-funded. Learning A LOT. 👇

Didn’t get an allocation for @YieldFields_RH. I just wanted to invest and actually play the game. Sadly, you can cook in web3 gaming for years and still go unrecognized.

Today is the mint for @playcambria's OG asset in the game's new core loop. I'll definitely be investing heavily in the game. I've been an MMO player my whole life, and I've trusted what @cyberpunk has been building for a long time. When the game launches, I plan to stake most of my tokens + NFTs and play with my @TempestGuild, bringing them the best in-game opportunities. If you've played MMOs with us, you know how it goes. And this one holds a special place for me. I'm not planning to cash out or take big profits from the seasons and tokens I receive. I want to grow alongside the project, trusting Bennz's decisions. We're also running our own web2 idle RPG, and I've been investing a lot in its economy. Being part of Cambria is a pleasure and a chance to learn and dig deep into how every mechanic works. Super hyped to go all in on the ecosystem 🔥

Our marketing runs on three pillars: creators, our own community, and paid traffic. Paid traffic was my first time going really deep, from producing the creatives to measuring how each one performed. The truth is, paid traffic almost always comes out ahead on direct performance. So why work with creators at all? Because our partnerships, and everything we invested in working with 50 creators, let us position ourselves in the market with credibility. The most trusted names in the niche are on our side. Expecting a creator's conversions to match the value they bring to the ecosystem is an illusion. The key to something bigger is partnering with the creators who set the standard for credibility in the niche, people who are part of the ecosystem and actively take part in it. I don't believe any single piece moves the needle on its own. It's the ecosystem as a whole, with each part complementing the others, that drives growth together.
