Here are the games I've beaten in 2025. I've never bothered making a list on Twitter because I'll probably forget about it. But we'll see.

I think this is my favourite new JRPG of the 2020s. Two playthroughs done and I often feel like doing another.

Before I go to bed, here is my Twitter circle thing that people are doing. If you are on here, I probably annoyed you with some FF8 talk recently 😅.

If I didn't annoy you with some FF8 talk, feel free to hit me up and request that I say something about FF8.

Here are my GBA Final Fantasy games. Yes I know that's a Mana game but it has a historical tie to Final Fantasy and I wanted a 6th game, lol. Also my 2 GBAs that I played all these on (as well as the DS and GBA player (not shown here, maybe another time). Also a 7800 just cos.

Don't you just hate the price stickers that shops used to use. They got better over time, but I remember some were basically fused to the boxes. That fate befell my copy of FF6, as well as many other games bought around that time from some shops.

The astute among you may notice a mix of US and EU games. That's because handhelds like the GBA were region-free. Some shops would sometimes get copies in from the US as games often launched earlier there.

Nodes of Yesod, 1985 (ZX Spectrum version) I've become increasingly interested in this game these past few days. Tried it on a whim and it's something I'd have been obsessed when I first started playing games. I feel like getting some paper and drawing some maps.

Its all about exploring and finding the right bunch of crystals scattered around the map but there are several mechanics I enjoy. Not least the fact that you join up with a little moon mole who can kill enemies and find secret passages, lol. Of course it's got some jank, but 🤷‍♂️.

In this day and age, some might call it a Metroidvania. But it's really just a platform game about exploring, finding objects, and getting lost while dying and retrying, lol. There were loads of these, especially after Ultimate (Rare) had hits like Sabrewulf and Underwurld.

I love translating little bits of fictional languages in games. One that sticks in my memory is from Jak II. Here and there you can see Precursor words (fictional language). Most instances in the game are functional, but these are various messages in memory of a dog.
The shelves are trickier 1st- I assume it's The Legend of Aifread. But they sure do spell his name differently lol 2nd-Craymel Engineering for Beginners 3rd-Eternal Friend Nohkos. Who is Nohkos? idk 4th-The Distant World 5th-The Parade to Peace

That dog was the "Naughty Dog" that the company is named after (Jason Rubin's pet). A dog named Morgan that appeared occasionally as a mascot. Anyway, it's a touching little secret. FFX also has fictional languages. Al Bhed being the main one. And of course Tales of Eternia!

These numbers should put into perspective why gamers shouldn't be hung up on whether their favourite game sells multiple millions. Many of these entire series sell less than single games that people argue about being failures. I mean, gamers shouldn't worry about sales anyway.
Koei Tecmo Series Sales Numbers! • Dynasty Warriors - 24M • Nobunaga’s Ambition - 11M • Dead or Alive - 11M • Romance of the Three Kingdoms - 9.5M • Samurai Warriors - 8.5M • Nioh - 10M • Atelier - 8M • Ninja Gaiden - 7.5M • Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty - 8M* (*users)

Stop the presses! He's got a gun sword and she looks like a Selphie. Is FF Resonance really FF8? Come on people, you should be telling me this! Now I might have to play it.

It's been a rough month financially. I've checked and I've only got six pence left until Friday! So I'm sixpence none the richer... There's a band I haven't thought about in 25 years, lol.

I know exactly 2 of their songs, "Kiss Me" and "There She Goes". But that last one is a cover and with me being as old as the hills, I know the original better.

Absolutely moronic doompost. The pricing of next gen doesn't stand anywhere right now. The next gen doesn't exist. Stop living in pessimistic speculation on social media and actually start playing and enjoying games.
Pricing of the next-gen consoles as it stands right now. PlayStation 6: $1000-1600 Xbox Helix: $1200-1800

Here's the racing game I'm playing right now. It's pure arcadey joy with superb visuals, music, and course design. There's plenty to do and some nice overt references to other racing games. I haven't played it all that much yet, but I can tell it'll be a favourite.
One per franchise. I had to leave a lot of good games off. I love racing games, they are competing for my third favourite genre along with shoot em ups and one or two others.

I didn't think that graphics had peaked that generation. The flaws were easy to see, but I did say to my friends that we didn't need graphics to get any better. I still hold that opinion, lol, even though the stuff that came after looks great.
We though it couldn't get any better than this

If your favourite isn't on here, it deserves to be! There are no bad soundtracks in Castlevania (cancelled Gamecom title aside). I can't believe some of the stuff I left out of this list. I should send death threats to myself, I deserve them!
