From Sunday 25th the full moon is the Hunters Moon (if it doesn't get blown away by Storm Boleo!)
It signaled the time to go hunting in preparation for the winter ahead
I prefer the Cree name Migrating MoonĀ in reference to the time when birds begin to fly south to warmer climes

Bram Stoker's 2013 highly praised, Classic Prog album 'Cold Reading' now Remastered, is available on Bandcamp as a Ltd edition CD & digital download from 31st October 2026 ā Two-week preorder special starts Friday 16th of October.
Backstory from Tony Lowe ā Producer, co-composer, and multi-instrumentalist on Bram Stokerās 2013 - āCold Readingā:
āIn the Early days of 1971, I was in a basement on Fulham Palace Rd playing bass on ā21st Century Schizoid Manā with Robert Fripp, Mel Collins and Ian Wallace at my second audition for King Crimson. It was unlikely that I would get the job at only 17 years old and with no previous touring experience. Three weeks later I was asked to join āBram Stokerā, a keyboard led Prog Rock band with Tony Bronsdon on Hammond Organ. Tonyās amazing ability on a Keyboard immediately pulled me in and I loved the crossover between Rock and Classical music. We played the Clubs, Colleges and Universities in England and Holland during most of 1971 before breaking up.
Fast forward 40 years to 2011 and I met with Tony Bronsdon over Dinner in Dorset to discuss reforming Bram Stoker with a new line up. There would also be a new album featuring some of the original material plus 8 new songs. I recruited the talented Will Hack on Lyrics and Vocals and spent the rest of the year producing āCold Readingā, a ten-track album, with Tony Bronsdon on Keyboards and backing vocals, myself on Guitar, Bass, Keyboards and Drum programs and Will Hack on Vocals and Lyrics. Released in 2013 with over 22 rave reviews across England and Europe.ā @tony_lowe @ESPProgProject @sunncreative #bramstoker #progressiverock #prog

BECOMING A VAMPIRE does not always involve being a victim of bloodsucking. The myriad ways one can become a #vampire according to Romanian folklore include: dying unmarried, dying a suicide, dying unforgiven, having the shadow of a person fall on your corpse #31DaysofHalloween

The legendary Beat writer Jack Kerouac died on this day, October 21st, 1969. Hereās a short write-up on his final days, along with one of my favorite Kerouac passages from his book ā Big Sur. Check it out.
āBy the time Jack Kerouac died at 47 in 1969, heād exiled himself from the 1960s youth culture heād partly inspired with the likes of āOn the Roadā and āThe Dharma Bums.ā
Bloated by booze and reactionary politics, he bore little resemblance to that matinee-idol handsome āKing of the Beatsā. In death, though, Kerouacās star has risen with each succeeding generation.ā
