Introducing buffer zones at abortion clinics is a welcome step against the intimidation that often occurs around them. I had an abortion in my 20s so I know first-hand how daunting that journey to the clinic is. Nobody should be made to feel even more vulnerable in that moment.

Nearly 6 months on from the Public Order Act receiving Royal Assent, safe access zones around #abortion clinics remain unenforced as the Government decides that it needs to launch a 'consultation' on how to enact them. We're now looking at possible action in Spring 2024.

Here's letter regarding the nonenactment of "safe access zones" around abortion clinics despite the rest of the Public Order Act now being law. It was overwhelmingly passed but this word salad: consultation in Spring, emotive subject feels like multiple steps back to square one

It's ludicrous that Ealing Council has to do this despite national law passing 6 months ago but *still* not being in force. Because of @ukhomeoffice failings, if you live in Ealing and believe women should be able to access abortion care free from harassment, you need to respond.
