Proud parenting moment. Today at school, Franklin filled his mask with cheese-its, so it was snack time all the time. He's basically a genius. I think the teachers were impressed.
Franklin changed his name to Cup. Tom let it slip that he always wanted to be called Zachary, and now the kids won't call him Dad because "he looks like a Zachary".
Me (making an acknowledgement slide):...let's see if I can find a picture where everyone's clothed.
Feeling down about sending my dissertation to my committee a day later than planned was soon replaced with getting word that our manuscript is accepted! Followed by a note from my Chair saying he's proud of me. It's a good day.

“Warm, but not too hot,” I answer.
The shower starts, the water’s perfect. 1/

Someone asked about example micro-affirmations during the #2020SDB strategies to confront bias session. I remember nearly every faculty member who:
- Complemented one of my talks, posters, or lab meetings
- Told me I had a future in science
- Nominated me for an award
