Why did Musk go to Washington? Surely it is coincidence that when he went he faced a mountain of investigations into his businesses but when he left three months later they had all disappeared?

Musk fucked up. No one can trust him. He earned that.
India said NO to Starlink.
Musk thought he could throw a public tantrum and bully India into handing him a telecom monopoly, but he completely miscalculated.
Thanks to Trump’s reckless betrayal of global allies and cozying up to dictators, the world is waking up to a terrifying truth: you simply cannot trust America—or its arrogant billionaires—with your national security anymore.
Fareed Zakaria:
“Elon Musk picked the wrong moment to lecture Indians.
Frustrated that Starlink had not been cleared to launch in that country, he accused the government of protecting Mukesh Ambani whose telecom network Jio will launch its own satellite service.
Musk cast himself as the champion of ordinary Indians against one of the country's richest men. It backfired. India's government dismissed his accusation as baseless.
An influential nationalist group close to the ruling party went further demanding that Starlink be kept out of India altogether citing national security. Media and online reactions were similarly hostile to Starlink.
Musk did not understand that in India as in much of the world, trust in America is collapsing. Indians have watched as Donald Trump has discarded 25 years of bipartisan outreach to New Delhi in favor of cozying up to Pakistan and its de facto dictator Field Marshal Asim Munir.
They have watched Trump essentially abandon Ukraine, where the military version of Starlink has been suspiciously restricted, thus crippling Ukraine's military response to Russian aggression.
Would India define itself in another crisis with Pakistan? Would it want its armed forces to be utterly dependent on a US satellite system controlled by Trump?”

Last week's Covid Inquiry report into care was a devastating verdict on @MattHancock's failures during the pandemic.
His response: silence.
He doesn't care.
Show him we still do; sign our petition to hold him accountable.

Replying to @NotThatHughes
Piers Morgan talking about Meghan Markle? Didn't see that one coming...
Not reptile. Possibly alien - which could explain his space obsession - he wants to go home.
Replying to @peterjukes @Bannons_WarRoom
No. There is no evidence Elon Musk is half reptile. Claims of this kind recycle the long-running reptilian conspiracy theory popularized by David Icke, which rests on subjective looks, video glitches, and folklore rather than any biological, genetic, or documented proof. His features align with ordinary human variation from his known family background.
Truth
Hey @grok
Did Errol Musk, Elon's father, have two children with his stepdaughter, that he raised since she was 4 years old?
Start with Yes or No.
Interesting. A fundamental of social media is to drive engagement. Typically this is achieved by pushing posts that are already receiving engagement. A self reinforcing loop. So then why would Elon's social media platform throttle a post achieving high engagement?
If your defence plans rely on an unreliable billionaire perhaps you don't really have a defence plan.

Who throttled Ukraine's Starlink - Trump or Musk? What about both? It is possible that Musk suggested it to the Trump administration and carried it out with their approval. But once Europe reacted to rising devastation in Ukraine Elon feared a commercial backlash.
We don’t use Starlink for our responses inside Russia. We use Starlink to intercept jet-powered “shaheds” that attack our civilians and kill families.
Starlink wasn’t turned off – its speed was reduced. And when the speed was reduced, we were unable to intercept a certain number of jet-powered “shaheds.” We couldn’t use a tool that helps protect people. That’s very painful and frustrating.
We also use Starlink for mid-range strikes against enemy military targets in our temporarily occupied territories. We couldn’t do that when the restrictions were in place. And third, what matters most is people. Our warriors, who spend weeks and months on the front line, receive food and water delivered by drones using Starlink.
Has the speed been fully restored to what it was before? No. Is it being restored now? Yes.
From a conversation with media representatives in Brussels. (2/3)
When the Brits did as the Americans told them.
Americans told the Brits to enforce racial segregation in their own pubs in their own country. The Brits complied - but not in the way expected...
American military police tried to impose a colour bar on an English village in 1943.
The village's three pubs responded by putting up signs reading: BLACK TROOPS ONLY. Bamber Bridge, Lancashire.
Black American soldiers were stationed there and the locals liked them. When the US Army asked the village to segregate its pubs, the publicans complied in the most English way available — by barring the white Americans instead.
On the night of 24 June 1943, white American MPs came to arrest a Black soldier at Ye Olde Hob Inn for a uniform infraction. British civilians and British soldiers in the pub intervened and told them to leave him alone.
It escalated into a night of shooting between Black GIs and American MPs. One Black soldier, William Crossland, was killed.
Dozens were court-martialed. British witnesses testified about the MPs' conduct, and sentences were reduced. The US Army quietly reorganised how MPs were deployed in the area.
An English village looked at American segregation, understood it immediately, and refused to host it.
The pub is still there. The sign is part of local legend.
Oh no! How will we find out about the Whitehouse ballroom, the Trump-Kennedy Center and Whose been vandalising the reflecting pool this week?
