We are appreciative and fortunate for all that @Suessen11 Aaron Suessen does for our student athletes! @MrNewellCM presented him with our #PoundTheStone award - sponsored by @SmoothieKing - for his perseverance (and perspiration) during our heat wave! @superjillgriff

Thanks for listening and being curious about WBGT and sharing… But… What happens if you do your best and someone falls out with a heat emergency? I’m glad you asked…

Guardian caps were shown to provide little protection in the field, outside of lab experiments. Could they provide some benefit? Maybe a little. But is it enough to make a significant difference? The evidence suggests it does not. scopeblog.stanford.edu/2023/…

So much for the joint policy statement that the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and @NATA1950 signed. IPTA says “we as a profession must stand opposed to this bill”. Never mind that many of the surrounding states have made similar changes! @mnhopper1s

Hate to see this! Almost certainly is a torn ACL for Alabama WR Jameson Williams…You can actually see the shift of tibia forward & back.

Still using heat index? Hope not.... Do you know about WBGT? Wet Bulb Globe Temperature is what everyone should use to determine how to approach sports participation! Considers temp, wind speed, humidity & solar radiation. Is your school using WBGT? It should be!

Not surprised that National Athletic Training Month and Brain Injury Awareness Month are one in the same. Athletic Trainers play a critical role in the initial evaluation of concussion and being advocates against unsafe practices. #NATM2020 #BrainInjuryAwarenessMonth
