Russia just told the US it will ship as much diesel as America wants. Deputy PM Alexander Novak on Russian state TV: "As many as our partners want, frankly, out of the volume we'll be exporting. We can supply it all." The first tanker left the Baltic port of Primorsk last week with 40K tonnes of diesel. Novak says three are now on their way to the US East Coast, and the first isn't due to arrive until Nov 7, four days after the midterms. Meanwhile US diesel is averaging $6.28 a gallon, up $2.66 from a year ago. The promise has no limit, but the supply behind it depends on Russian refineries that Ukraine has been hitting for months. Kyiv says its drones have knocked out at least half of Russia's refining capacity, and Novak himself says full volumes may not arrive until the end of the year. The plan on paper is 300K tonnes this month, 500K in November and 1M in December. That said, even the December cargoes would cover only about two days of US diesel demand. After 30+ years in this business, the lesson I keep coming back to is that diesel prices are set by refining capacity, and no deal can sign more of it into existence. Until that capacity comes back, diesel stays expensive. Wherever the tankers come from.

I make $100,000+/mo through trading. Before AI, I spent hours reviewing trades, journaling mistakes and trying to spot patterns manually. Now I use AI to review trades, find recurring mistakes and tell me exactly what I need to fix. Here's how I use it (copy this):🧵

If you had $100,000 in loose change, what would you do with it? Here’s one option: spend it all on one night at The Mark Hotel in New York. Actually, you’d still be $14,767 short. In April 2025, Guinness World Records certified its penthouse as the most expensive hotel room in the world, at $114,767 a night. So what does that actually get you? The top two floors of the hotel. Over 10,000 square feet. Five bedrooms. Six bathrooms. Four fireplaces. A living room with 26-foot ceilings that converts into a full ballroom. A 2,500-square-foot rooftop terrace overlooking Central Park and the Met. Furniture custom-designed by Jacques Grange, the interior designer whose clients have included Yves Saint Laurent. And the perks go beyond the room: a personal butler, airport transfers, and private after-hours tours of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. At this price, you’re not booking a room. You’re borrowing the best address in New York.

PSA: You don't have to understand crypto to make money in it. I hear this ALL the time from investors who are scared of buying crypto: "I don't understand blockchain or how it works, so I'm not putting my money in it". Here's what I tell them. Think about the INTERNET. Did everyone who invested in internet companies like Google or Amazon in the early 2000s understand how servers, coding or internet protocols worked? Of course NOT. Even today, most people don't understand how these work. But back then, they understood the internet was going to CHANGE the world. And they wanted to be invested into the companies that would BENEFIT the most from that new technology. Wall Street saw that opportunity too. Hedge funds, major investment firms and some of the world's wealthiest families invested in Amazon, Google and Facebook as the internet economy emerged. They didn't need to know how to code. They just recognized which companies will benefit the most. Because as billions of people will start using the internet, those companies stood to make BILLIONS, making those invested a lot of money. Now guess what? Wall Street is doing the EXACT same thing with Bitcoin and crypto RIGHT NOW. Hedge funds are BUYING Bitcoin. Institutions are HOLDING it. BlackRock, one of the world's largest asset managers, launched IBIT, allowing its clients to invest in Bitcoin through a regular brokerage account. And they didn't stop there. They created a Bitcoin income ETF AND an Ethereum ETF that offers staking rewards. WHY? BlackRock's US Head of Equity ETFs, Jay Jacobs explained that their clients believe in Bitcoin & crypto's LONG-TERM potential in upgrading the financial system, but also want ways to generate income. Wall Street is literally BUILDING financial products around crypto because investors WANT their money in this new tech. And we've had Collective Shift clients - regular, hard-working people - make tens of thousands of dollars (and millions for some) from Bitcoin and crypto without any understanding of blockchain. Of course, you still need to understand the risks, your allocation and your exit strategy. But you DON'T need to fully understand crypto to recognize an investment opportunity when it's staring at you in the face.
