So Rajputs basically score 8-10% higher SAHG than local Gujjars. This pattern is consistent with what we have observed for Indian side too.
Three populations. One genomic dataset. Identical ancestry models. Noticeably different genetic profiles. 🧬
I analyzed Punjabi Gujjar, Punjabi Khatri, and Punjabi Rajput genomes from GenomeAsia 100K using ADMIXTOOLS qpAdm and AADR v66p1 2M.
All three were modeled against the same ancestral sources and carefully curated right populations.
The results reveal substantial differences in their inferred ancestry profiles.

• BA2-2.SG: 59.0%
• Steppe MLBA: 24.1%
• Onge: 16.9%
• p = 0.538
🔵 Khatri_GA
• BA2-2.SG: 53.3%

• Onge: 17.4%
• p = 0.092
🟡 Rajput_GA
• BA2-2.SG: 46.8%
• Steppe MLBA: 24.0%
• Onge: 29.1%
• p = 0.142
All three models were statistically non-rejected.
But the direct Onge coefficients don’t represent total AASI-related ancestry, since BA2-2.SG itself contains indigenous South Asian-related ancestry.
Accounting for that changes how we interpret the results.

His father Raja Nahar Singh Gujjar of Landhaura also served as the Faujdar of the entire Upper Doab from 1782 to 1789. appointed by Emperor Shah Alam II.
Before him Najib-ud-Daula the Afghan Nawab of Rohilkhand held the position.
